I have been transferred from other surgery . It wasn?t the easiest to find. Staff is lovely , but place itself is shocking ! That?s a medical place , surely long time ago should be renovated . Does not smell like medical and clean place . Also had a blood test done and asked for plaster rather then cotton wool and got a plaster from private handbag ? Not staff fault ? surely place need more care and get this place renovated or move a building. . . first time ever i had experience any medical place looking this way !

I apologise in advance for the long review, I was trying to explain in detail, especially for people with mobility issues. I like to check the place I'm visiting beforehand, so I have a plan in place if using crutches or my mobility scooter!
I know this surgery as Rising Brook Surgery. I'm not sure if this is a recent name change or 2 surgeries working together ?The surgery itself was easy to find, clean, and tidy. No complaints at all towards the staff as they were lovely, polite, and efficient. Most of all, not wanting to know all the details of the appt, unlike most surgeries where the receptionists insist on knowing more than necessary!!
The only problem and a fairly damaging one to the surgery is their carpark. It's awful. Only one car can safely drive round and enter at a time, and you either have to reverse out the carpark around a tight corner or do a 3 point which will definitely be a 6/7/8 point turn where you will have to navigate cars parked tightly one side and the surgery wall on the other not to mention directly in front bollards, just above 4ft high making difficult to see. It is an extremely tight squeeze. I would dread doing it if my car didn't have parking sensors.
There are disabled spaces, but again, with the carpark being so compact, it isn't very safe unloading and setting up a wheelchair which is a shame as this let's the surgery done and would be a reason for me to not join as my regular GP surgery. Luckily, I was simply taking my mum for a specialist appointment, so it won't be a regular visit, thank goodness!

How is it that in an age where we are able to travel to Mars, we are still faced with having to compete with hundreds of others at 8am and 11am for a doctors appointment.Surely there must be a better system than this.

We were transferred to John Amery from Weeping Cross due to relocation a few years ago and had nothing but disappointment ever since. The receptionists are lovely and that is their ONLY saving grace. The service is appalling, the 'doctors' unhelpful and the daily battle of 8 and 12 'on the dot' calls to fight for who needs help the most is utterly debilitating at a time when people are already struggling enough to need medical intervention. I can see why hospitals are so backed-up with non-emergencies if other gp surgeries are anything like ours who constantly push to 'call 111' when all you need is a 2 minute conversation, a prescription and you can only THEN go back to work

The loveliest most helpful receptionists. Very clear and straightforward to get things done.

Very disorganized. We handed over all the documents to register, they were left with a copy. After few days, they asked to come back show our IDs (again), we did.Two weeks later, I tried to book an appointment and they says that they didn't register us because they need the IDs.Did they throw away our documents?I gave up and will register for another one.

Although it can be frustrating trying to get through at 8am when I did get through the receptionist was very helpful. I got a face to face appointment with a GP who was thorough.I was sent for the appropriate tests and had a follow up appointment for the results.I found the whole experience to be efficient except for the time it took to get through initially.

You ring and you are immediately cut off...told to ring at 8 or 12 to see if by some miracle you can get a doctors appointment to be told no..diverted to Weeping Cross when I'm a JAD patient to be told surgery is shut at weeping Cross.???. on the website JAD is open until 6pm so why aren't you answering phone calls???This is an appalling service..Why is it so difficult to see or speak to a doctor..don't keep blaming COVID!!! This surgery has got to be one of the worst in Stafford..No one has a good word to say about this surgery!

The Doctor here called me a hypochondriac In other words because I was worried about a lump. As quite a few family members have died of cancer this wasn?t really appreciated.
