Halfords saved me yesterday when I had a big problem with my car battery while shopping in town. I arrived without an appointment and they fit me in. They were so friendly and helpful, especially the lady who checked my car over and identified the problem. Thank you so much. I've always had good service here.

Good prices if you know what you need ? but be warned.
I booked an interim service after 6,000 miles since my last full service at another garage. The online quote looked very reasonable, but now I understand why: they make up for it with upselling.
I expected them to mention my brake discs ? I knew they were probably due. But I was surprised by how much else they recommended:
£49.99 for brake fluid (changed at my last service!)
£99.58 for a pollen filter (also changed last time!)
£125.11 for brake pads
£155.46 for brake discs
The brake discs did genuinely need doing, and it?s fair to recommend pads too, but their price was expensive ? I got a quote over £100 cheaper elsewhere!
In short: reasonable headline price but expect upsells ? check what you really need and shop around for quotes.

Visited here as had a Europcar hire car with an issue with rear wiper water not working , and went here as advised by Europcar! Could not help me with the issue, were very helpful but I was given the wrong advice to go here by Europcar!!!

Workshops and approach road looked very rundown. Had a mot carried out , given an advisory for brake pads, followed by an estimate for fitting new pads. This work is not necessary as the car was serviced 1050 miles previous, with a BMW main dealership. The health check from BMW quoted pad thickness of 9mm front and 6mm rear.
