CEX Stafford is a great little shop offering what you'd expect from a CEX shop, and that staff are super helpful and knowledgeable. If you're looking for electronics or games at great prices, recommend a visit.

I?ve always gotten some great deals in Stafford?s CEX and have no complaints about buying and selling there.
Staff are absolutely brilliant and helpful. Now it?s even better shopping there because they have a new member of staff that can only be described as Eye Candy. lol. Well she is, I challenge you to prove me wrong. Fab shop

So I took my meta quest 3 in to sell forst time there and last offered me 50 pounds less than going price for starters . they then said can't take it as there is a scratch on the lense just checked lenses they are immaculate no scratches in sight a few dust specs what a joke of a place keep well away sell your items for more money and to a place that has trained staff who know what they are actually talking about . Would give no stars if option was there UPDATE. had my quest3 checked out by an alternative expert and NO issues scratches were found i also ended up selling g this for 140 pounds more than this ridiculous place offered STAY AWAY

I am editing my review down from 3 stars to 2 star due to the response received (see below), in order to make it crystal clear, that I was NOT satisfied with the service provided by the staff at CEX yesterday.
For the past 24 hours I have had to explain to my tearful 8 year old son, some of the complexities of British law. So, despite my son immediately returning something that he had bought by mistake to the shop, CEX does not have to return his birthday savings. Therefore he cannot buy the 20 pound Lego set that he really wants - and which I had previously told him that he could buy, once CEX had refunded his money. It is complicated by the fact that I do not truly understand why CEX should wish to keep an 8 year old's savings, which they could refund to him. (I have learnt that they legally have the right to keep his money, being the equivalent of (in the words of the person who refused to give my son his 20 pounds), 'a charity shop' - but also that they can use their own discretion to return the money to him, should they so wish (as Charity shops often do, as it happens).)
Below is my original (unedited) review.
Up until today I have had good experience of this store, and would have given it a '5'.
However, my son has just turned 8 years old, and had received 20 pounds (in total) from his relatives. (We are not a rich family.) My son could not decide whether he wanted to buy a Lego set or a game for our PS4. We cannot afford original games, and so I took him to CEX to see if there was something second hand that he liked. He saw a Minecraft game for 20 pounds, and decided to buy that. However, when we got home, he discovered that it was an old version of Minecraft, and was missing a lot of updates, and that he no longer wanted it, as the version that we have on a tablet is much better (in his opinion) - and instead he wanted the Lego set after all. I told him that it would be fine, as we had only left the shop an hour previously, and the sale staff there are always friendly - and his older brother had previously had a game fully refunded by the store. So, we went back into town, planning to get his 20 pounds back, with which to then buy the Lego set that he wanted. Within a couple of hours of buying the Minecraft game, we returned to the store, and asked for his money back. The man who had sold the game to my son was behind the counter - but did not acknowledge our presence. His colleague instead informed us that he could not give us a refund, and that my son should have read the small print on the receipt that said 'no refunds, only vouchers'. I explained to the man that back in December, my other son had received a full refund for a game that he had bought, and so we were expecting the same this time. The man said that was their goodwill policy around Christmas time. I explained that my son did not want the game, and wanted a Lego set instead, which also cost 20 pounds, and that we were not a well-off family. The man sympathised by saying that he had bought a Lego set himself for 180 pounds the evening before, so knew that Lego sets were expensive, but that we should have listened to the other man when he sold the game to my son, and/or read the small print on the receipt. We therefore left the shop with a piece of paper saying for an '20 pound exchange voucher' - and a very sad boy. (My son had had a look at the other PS4 games that they had, but he could not see any that he wanted. He just wants the Lego set.)
It would have made a world of difference to my 8 year old son if the company had refunded his 20 pounds, that he had only given them a couple of hours previously, and then he could have bought the Lego set that he actually wanted. Instead, we have an exchange voucher for twenty pounds for a shop neither of us really want to revisit.

A few times a year I will make the journey down to Stafford to Visit this store as they always seems to have a lot of variety and sometimes items you don't really see anywhere close to me so I make the special journey i like that it looks like a hmv sort of vibe minus the CDS and vinyl but they sell posters and that which I thought was very cool! Staff on every visit are friendly will visit again

Hello I've recently been to your store in Stafford and I've got to to say what an absolutely apauling end to a possible trade in.
I went to trade in my iPhone to be accused of lieing by one of your members of staff about the camera that's in the iPhone I explained that the cameras are all original apple and nothing has been changed on the phone whilst I had it to which his words were well I don't belive that as the camera isnt working.
I explained that it doesnt affect the use of the phone or the other main cameras I was then told that the price would be £130 trade in value after it was originally £275 there's no scratches or marks around the phone it's in perfect condition and works like new
When i asked for the phone back It was slated in my hand with no box that I took it in then when I asked for the box back that again was slated in my hands not very professional service is it
After this experience I will not be using this store whatsoever and don't approve of being called a lier when I'm not.

The Stafford store is brilliant and the team there were great. Although the low review is due to the experience overall.
I ordered an Xbox via the online shop and this was sent out and happened to be faultly. The store refunded me via store credit and I then checked stock and drove to collect another (1hr away) upon arrival in the store in Lichfield I was told the Xbox was reserved and the stock hadn't been uodated.
I then ordered another for click and collect from the Newcastle store. When I got home to test this console had been tampered with so I took this back to my local store who arranged another refund.
Eventually I managed to get a replacement from my local store and even though it has a few marks it works fine.
Would recommend the Stafford store.
