The food and staff are lovely, but had to wait over 40 mins for food. It was quiet inside so I don't understand what took so long.

We brought our family members from Spain here to sample some British cuisine. Staff are lovely and the food was excellent. Great outdoor play area for the children.

I had heard from friends that this was a really nice place for food. We arrived and were pleasantly surprised by the whole look of the place. Very modern with a traditional feel to the decor and surroundings. The 2 ladies that were working were both friendly and efficient. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and my husband ordered the 12ox Gammon. The atmosphere was quite quiet as we were in between lunch and dinner. The food arrived and we were offered sauces etc.The food was correct, as ordered but My burger was very dry and crumbly. The 'handcut chips' were very dry, hard in places and really quite chewy. My husbands Gammon was good and the pineapple Chutney was different but nice. My husband was also not impressed with the chips. I ate 3/4 of the burger and we asked for a takeaway box for the remaining chips. We ordered a dessert in the hope that it would redeem itself. We both ordered the lemon meringue sundae. It arrived quite quickly and was very refreshing. There was no detail regarding to what was in the sundae but we think it was lemon sorbet with some sort of cold custard/cream. Then bits of meringue crumbled onto the top. It was very nice but if were really being picky it could have done with something like lemon sauce drizzled over the top. The bill was approx £50 which was a bit steep considering the quality. All in all a lovely place for a drink outside in the summer but as for food we won't be returning unless we hear it has improved. Maybe it was a fluke inbetween services experience who knows but 1st impressions last.

Beautiful building and the bar staff are very friendly, waiting staff in restaurant were. Very sullen, they clearly didn?t want to be there , the Sunday carvery was exactly like a toby carvery unfortunately, but a little more expensive, Yorkshire pudding seemed like they had been previously frozen, they were so hard I had difficulty in cutting them, meat was just average quality, and not a lot of choice of fresh vegetables, carrots were in the same dish as parsnips which I dislike with a passion , cauliflower and broccoli cheese was ok and roast and ne potatoes were ok , the gravy again was poor made from granules , overall it was very disappointing.

Lovely environment, remote location and very kind staff.
Absolutely enjoyed our steak and fries. Done to a request and nothing to fault it with.

The Mill is a lovely spacious restaurant in nice surroundings. Food was lovely. Plenty of it at a reasonable price. Service was very good.

We took our teenage grandchildren for a treat. We were overwhelmed by the food, atmosphere and service. This is one place that I didn't feel like I was being ripped off. It was truly good value for money. We will definitely be returning soon.

We chose this restaurant to celebrate our 6-year wedding anniversary, but sadly, the evening fell far short of expectations. From the moment we arrived, the service felt disorganised and inattentive. We waited at the bar area for several minutes, trying to catch the attention of any staff member. Eventually, someone approached and asked for our booking. We gave our name but had to repeat it, as there seemed to be confusion.
After repeating our details, a woman appeared next to the staff member. We assumed she was a manager. She quietly asked the same member of staff, ?Is this within our booking?? The staff member confirmed, ?Yes, it?s the wedding anniversary booking.?
Once seated, we were then handed the Sunday menu, which offered very limited options. I asked for the beef Wellington, only to be told it wasn?t available on Sundays. This was particularly frustrating because the beef Wellington was clearly displayed on the menu board right next to the bar. Surely, if the restaurant doesn?t serve it on Sundays, it shouldn?t be shown on the menu board.
Between us, we ordered two starters, two mains, a pint of ale, a half of ale, and a glass of wine. The £9 charge for the glass of wine was noticeably higher than average, which came as a shock when we received the bill.
After finishing our starters, a different waiter brought over dessert menus?even though we were still waiting for our mains. It took over half an hour for them to arrive.
Unfortunately, the food didn?t make up for the delays. The gammon was extremely salty, the chips were overly greasy, and the beef burger arrived so hot it felt like it had been microwaved. For a bill totalling over £65, the quality simply wasn?t there.
Overall, what should have been a special evening turned out to be a disappointing experience. We left feeling let down by both the service and the food.

The food is generally excellent, particularly the carvery, as long as there is sufficient meat and plenty of vegetables.
Service was a bit jittery, there seems to be several younger staff members who will benefit from more experience.
