Nice setting shame about the food. My starter. A rack of ribs. Had hardly any meat on it whatsoever. My main was the lamb biryanni came in a BREAD BOWL, the sauce was a yoghurt based affair with cranberries. The meal is a dry meal and needs a liquid sauce. Very disappointing. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Visited for an evening meal to celebrate my wife's 72nd birthday. Just the two of us. I had driven past on numerous occasions and thought that the place looked inviting so booked a table on a Saturday evening on a whim. The food, service and overall ambience of the restaurant didn't disappoint. Based on this experience, we wouldn't hesitate to return in the future and recommend it to others.Parking: Enough space when we attended i.e. Saturday evening @ 8pm.

We use Viceroy, around twice a month either eating in or take-away.The dining in experience has always been positive, we take friends and family whenever they visit. However the takeaway is very hit and miss, sometimes of the restaurant quality, some times not, with dry meat, and overcooked (reheated) rice. This evening's order also took over 2.5 hours to come, apparently a website/app fault, even though at 1.5hours I was told it would be there in 10mins..The online ordering utility should be removed until it works.

Great place to visit, went here on the spur of the moment, and they fitted myself and my partner in just fine, 5 min wait.I had the white chicken curry, what was out of this world, never heard of this dish let alone had this dish before, its definitely worth trying, a nice taste bit I'm not going to give it all away, as its well worth trying. My partner had a Rogan josh, lovely taste, just a tiny bit of a salt taste but that could have just been us and our taste buds. The rice and nan breads were cooked very nice.Poppadoms and variety chutneys had a lot of taste, there was a green chutney version what was the best one that we've ever tasted.Thank you.KLS.

Party of 4 booked in on a Saturday evening poppadoms were stale and not crisp, same as the table next to us. Starters were not hot, mains were warm not hot. The chicken in my naga and in my partner's balti was tough and overcooked. I think you pay for the setting and not the quality of food. Definitely won't be returning. Dirty wine glass on the table and cracked sorbet dish wasn't a good standard.Slow service and wrong food brought to table and nearly dropped by waiter.Table next but one had drinks dropped down them too. Not what you'd expect from a place like this.

This isn't your normal Indian restaurant, the food and presentation is beautiful. I can't believe the last few reviews... The staff are so very friendly, I truly wonder if they have visited the Viceroy. They have three areas, the main restaurant and what looks like a private dining area. There is also the orangery, which is a conservatory. The main area serves a very reasonably priced al a carte menu where the Orangery provides a four course menu at £11.95, yes £11.95 a real bargain. I will attach photos and menu. 1st course poppadum with chutney platter. 2nd course - 11 to choose from, we had Sheek kebab and chicken tikka. 3rd course - 18 to choose from, we had chicken Rogan & chicken Balti. For side, a choice of rice or naan bread. Absolutely fabulous, plenty of freshly chopped tomatoes and so very tasty. Then finished with tea or coffee. What an absolute bargain. Better than a M&S takeaway! Our 2nd visit in a week, we will return. Thank you to the Viceroy team,

Went to celebrate a friends 60th birthday but ended up leaving the restaurant after just the starters. The starters, particularly the vegetarian starters were bland and lacking any flavour at all. Even the fish starters were less than appetising. The poppadums were stale too, only the chicken was any good.We are of Indian origin and so understand what indian cuisine should be like. When we expressed our view to the staff (including the chef), they became offensive and verbally abusive, asking us to "get lost". We are all professionals and have never faced such disrespect in our lives. Will definitely never be heading toward Viceroy again. After their disgraceful behaviour, we left the restaurant and ended up having a great meal at The Morris Man, who accommodated all of us last minute.

Had a worst experience I ever had in any restaurant in uk . Food was of poor quality, chef had no idea of cooking vegetarian food, overcooked mutton, oil seem burnt and used several times. Not bothered about taking any feedback and asked us not to come back to their restaurant ever ??.such a poor hospitality??? very rude and unprofessional staff ??. Disappointed and not recommend to any one ??.. probably thriving as people they serve have no idea of good quality Indian food

Went for dinner on 14th September 2023 along with family and friends. Was served literally tasteless food, particularly vegetarian starters. On questioning, Chef was very rude. Left the place mid meals and went to another restaurant in Stafford.

I went to Viceroy with a group of friends to celebrate 60th birthday of a friend visiting from abroad. We were all hoping for a great experience, meeting after a long time. I have no words to describe how horrible the food, service, staff attitude was. We had to leave after drinks and the most awful starters, cooked in stale oil, flavourless, unseasoned food. The staff attitude was even more shocking who were rude, aggressive and thoroughly unprofessional . The restaurant should stop calling itself Indian restaurant, as the crap they are serving does not reflect rich Indian cuisine at all. I can?t recommend this restaurant to anyone who actually cares about authentic Indian food. Absolute shame on its chef and the owner.
