Excellent sausage barm and carrot cake. Great tea and coffee. All at reasonable prices. Clean cafe. Lots of outside and undercover seating on Platform 2 with views of the trains. Pleasant, polite and helpful staff. Car park and a fairly short walk from the lake. Don't miss out on riding on the narrow gauge trains. Recommended!

Not a cafe! It is more of a kiosk to serve hot-cold drinks and a very small selection of snacks (chocolate bars, pre-packaged cakes). Missed opportunity for the site to earn revenue they can invest in operating the railway (which is awesome - this review is just the 'cafe'). Once you have purchased your limited food stuffs, seating is available in a covered area on the platform. Suspect this will be chilly outside the warm summer weeks. Don't let the limited cafe experience out you off; the railway is fab, and there is a lovely walk about the lake and round the dam. There is a fully fledged eatery on Rudyard Lake (get off at the Dam stop).

This restaurant is top quality. I can't fault the food, it's delicious. Chicken banjara is my favourite (vindaloo hot). Service isn't rushed, and it's nice and spacious inside.Without a doubt the best indian around, always our come to restaurant. Went last night for a special birthday and was amazing start to finish. All staff were friendly and a big shout out to our waiter who performed magic tricks four our daughter.

Sat waiting for friends to show up for our walk, had a few coffees and hot chocolate. Most ended up in the bin. The lady who served us seemed distraught with having to see or speak with anyone. Heard another customer ask her for toilet roll as there was none in the ladies toilet and she was told it's not her job! Wow... At least it's somewhere to sit and see the trian while waiting.
