Called in for dinner, my wife really enjoyed the squid starter, I had the pate, it was gorgeous.
Fish and chips were amazing. My wife had the Chorizo scotch egg with extra sald for her main course.
The staff were attentive without intrusion, they were very good at dealing with my blind wife and her dog. The beers on tap were very good.
We will return, its not far from home.

Great service, great staff. Ordered fillet steak £35 plus a sirloin. (Not cheap so you want it right) Looked the business when it arrived. A picture (infact I took one) Asked for medium to well. Unfortunately over cooked. A little bit of blood Would have been good to see same with the sirloin. The chef took exception came out and said he wouldn?t cook another steak for us.
So disappointing that this attitude was taken. A great local pub couldn?t be bothered. We enjoyed the Sunday lunch. But unfortunately we won?t be back. Don?t need the chef coming out to question us on what we ordered and giving us a hard time.

We were a party of 10 for a birthday meal on Friday
The service was excellent, the food was probably the best pub meal I've ever had , the choice of beers is plentiful and they certainly know how to keep ales unlike our local.
We have been there for lunchtime too and that was as good. So whether you go midday or evening you certainly won't be disappointed, we will definitely be going again soon.

Food beautifully prepared and service very friendly.We had Sunday lunch -family of five-the low rating is a result of the smallest amount of meat that I have ever been served for a Sunday lunch and at £21 did not represent good value for money.Have been before and not had this problem.

I popped in here randomly for a beer after a pleasant canal walk. I was made to feel welcome and had a fine ale recommended to me.
Mind the low beams near the seats!

On the recommendation of a friend four of us went to the Red Lion for lunch. It was a treat to find a restaurant with a large car park.
Once inside we were met by a welcoming waitress who showed us to our table. The décor of the restaurant was impressive, we had two menus to choose from a daily one and the full menu which is quite extensive. We all had a starter followed by a mains and two of us had sweets. We all agreed the food was excellent it arrived promptly and on warm plates which is a must. The whole experience was great and we will certainly be going back soon.
