The staff are lovely, the location and setting are great, but the food is sort of average. The fish tasted a bit watery (as most cheaper fish does). The tomatoes were tasteless and would be better left off the plate. The chicken burger is nice enough but nothing special; like something you?d get from a sizzling pub.

Lovely place to stop for lunch. Quiet area with the only traffic nearby being the occasional narrowboat passing by. Very clean pub with good service and attention to detail, including the bathroom facilities. Had plenty of help and advice with items on the menu. This was bolstered by the glorious sunshine and calm breeze outside which made eating a meal that much more pleasant. Two meals and two non alcoholic drinks came to less than £30.00 and for the quality of food and the service/attention to detail it was well worth it. Thoroughly recommended.
Dietary restrictions: Plenty of options if you don't eat red meat or are a vegetarian. The kids menu is quite good too. Quality is very good. ?

Quite enjoyed a spontaneous lunch on a Saturday, the food was good, but not outstanding, service was quite slow but very polite. There wasn't really any atmosphere.

Beautiful canalside pub. Idyllic on a lovely day. Olde worlde atmosphere. Lots of parking and outdoor seating. Staff are lovely too. We attended as part of a day trip on the Beatrice barge boat. This is an accessible boat for disabled people. It seems to be a regular watering hole for people travelling the canals and was a welcoming stop off. Sits next to a row of quaint little cottages. We didn't have time to eat there but we would definitely return.
