Today (at 18:50, ten minutes before store closing) I visited your Burton on Trent branch to buy wooden logs I needed to finish a project. Unfortunately, the garden section door had already been closed.
I politely asked a member of staff if I could quickly take 7 logs, which were literally just behind the closed garden door. It would have taken me no more than 60 seconds to put them on a trolley. Despite there still being 10 minutes before closing time, I was told it was impossible as they were ?closing soon.?
I had travelled from Derby specifically to make this purchase, yet had to return home empty-handed because of this unhelpful response. I find it disappointing that customers are refused service before official closing time, especially when the request was simple and reasonable.
This experience left me very dissatisfied and reconsidering whether to shop at Wicks in the future.

We brought out kitchen a while ago but due to us using our own fitters it has only just gone in! Saying that, its absolutely stunning! The lady at wickes who helped us, planned it all etc was Bev and she is such a genuinely nice person. From the moment i met her up to the end of delivery she was so helpful, informative and patient. Our little dog Nala also thought she was great and that doesnt happen often!
Thanks Bev, couldn't have done it without you. (Sorry its taken so long to review). Lizzie, Joe and Nala - Hatton

Great Wickes Store

What is going on at Wickes? Empty shelves, no visible staff apart from one lady on the till. I got the two things I needed but prices have gone up massively! Never used to be like this.

Easy click and collect collection
Items are reasonably priced, great to be able to see many items in person.. physical store always essential

Wickes kitchen fitted
Cost of kitchen £14000. Had to pay fitters extra for electrics plastering etc. Total around 17 - £18000.
Fitting was poor and parts missing.
Fitter drove a screw through the door and had to replace it. Sink badly fitted and needs replacing. Trim on edge of cut board badly glued. Leak under sink ruined unit and they had to replace unit only after trying to say it was not their plumbing that caused it. Took them a few month to sort out snags. Microwave wasn't fitted until 8 - 10 weeks after kitchen. The guarantee is only 2 yrs and they say that ran from the end of the main fitting and NOT from when the final snags were finished. So now they refuse to replace or repair any problem with the badly fitted sink or trim. Because they conveniently started the guarantee at time of main kitchen fitting and not when snags were fixed. Total cowboy job and lifted a lot of money for it.
They now refuse to communicate at all. If you like value for money avoid at all cost.
Wickes Order No 032936-8404-V
I expect a comment but not action. For information wickes, this order is in my wifes name. I don't like being fiddled.
We obviously will now have to find thousands more to correct your mistakes. I won't say thanks
Incidentally the pics here were sent to wickes and it never made the slightest difference. So they are obviously not bothered what people think about their standards and will continue doing this to unsuspecting customers.
Over the years I have spent absolutely thousands at wickes but now they won't get a cent out of me EVER.
Be Warned! Go elsewhere even if it's a little bit more, or you may regret it.
Is it so much to ask, that a company of this size can just do as asked and own up when they get it wrong??
Next time I will use a fitter of my own choice that I know comes with good recommendations. I could live with this if it was my own mistake but this company employ cowboy fitters and wipe their hands when it goes wrong.
My own rating would be minus a couple of stars if I could do this. Don't touch them, their standards are far too low for the money they expect you to fork out. When you complain they just make excuses and then eventually blank you and hope you will go away. None of their guarantees are worth anything really because they don't honour them, or at lease they didn't in our case. Its your choice though. I've found much better now for a better price. Forget your offers at wickes with there half price cabinates. If the fitters are bad it's worth nothing to you. Just arranged for complete worktops, splashbacks and sink replacement as work so bad we were getting leaks and smells as a result. Total cost of remedy work £5005. Now total cost of kitchen now a good £23000. Shop around, there's a lot better out there. Beware of this crew. Book anywhere but here.

Great variety of products, definitly a great supply of paint and decorating products, kitchens for some good prices and you can find almost everything for every job, good staff interactions and look for the trolleys with discounted products on them, some are silly cheap. Good store if you need renovation supplies or just that random screw to match the ones you have(not saying you'll definitely find it but there's a great amount of them).

Dissapointed. Ordered items Sunday evening to be delivered on Tuesday. Customer service rang to say the stock levels were incorrect and so they wouldn't be able to deliver until Fridaywhen they get more stock, the lady I spoke to was very friendly and I asked if I could add another slab to my order and pay for it as I actually needed 12 but on the website only 11 were in stock. She told me she would add it free of charge for the inconvenience caused which I was very pleased about.
However, when my delivery finally arrives Friday morning, the service was poor and the delivery driver was rude. They never knocked on my door to notify me of their presence, they started piling a large order of wood Chippings, top soil and slabs on my front lawn when there was a perfectly good concreted area right next to it. I kindly asked if they would be able to take the items and place them around the back of my property as I am pregnant and no way I could move those on my own, and the guy got an attitude with me for it. It became an uncomfortable experience so I sat inside and waited for them to finish and leave.
Then I noticed only 11 slabs were delivered and not the extra one I was told I would receive free of charge for the inconvenience. I wouldn't have minded this as it was free however I really needed the extra slab and I'm dissapointed as I'd offered to pay for it to ensure it would be included and was told it wasn't necessary. Now I don't have enough materials to finish my project.
