I went to The Red Carpet on the day it opened and thought then that it was somewhere I would be visiting again and again. The food wasn't great but the coffee was, and the idea of being able to watch a film without other people chatting or ploughing through huge boxes of popcorn was very attractive. I have been many times since, for films and live relays from the National Theatre or The Royal Shakespeare Theatre. My other concern on that first day (apart from the food, which has improved tremendously) was the ladies loos. The cubicles are still very small, but the taps are much better! The service in the café is very good and it's a pleasant environment for eating. They also provide a perfect venue for activities like Creative Writing, Art and Language courses. I really recommend a visit.

We love this cinema and will keep coming to watch films. But tonight I refrained from buying a glass of wine on principle. Over £10 for a 250ml glass of Malbec that costs the owner £10 a bottle is extortionate. I went thirsty instead. Stop being greedy please but your cinema experience is the best in this area.
