I stayed last week for 2 nights and found the Golden Cup to be a very clean and friendly place to stay. The food was very good and the ample breakfast was served in their comfortable dining room. The Golden Cup has nice clean rooms, a beautiful garden and ample parking. It is people that make a place work, the staff here are good and there is a bright and happy vibe to the place.

Despite booking and phoning in advance, staff were surprised by our arrival, room was not ready and toilet filthy. We were told we could not leave for diner as they were locking up and we could not have an external door key. I asked if I could change room and the owner arrived and was verbally abusive, told us to leave and struggled to refund us. There are no standards here ! NOT RECOMMENDED !

Pub seems nice clean and tidy.Staff were friendlyDidn't get to sample the food as I Fell asleep ( I'm told it's very good)Room was comfy with everything you would need.Lovely looking well kept gardensUnfortunately If you need to be up and out early, this is not the place for you.Ready to depart at 6 found myself in darkness and locked in until 7.

Great atmosphere,friendly homely public house. Great food / live sports / Accomodation. Great prices. Large outdoor grassed area ideal for Wedding parties / Marquee & Church (St Peters) across road. What more could you want?

We stayed here over the weekend. Lovely pub with a great garden. The food is good and very reasonably priced. Good beer and wine selection. Highly recommended!!

It's OK ish if you want a meal where you are served tinned potatoes and peas with a meal, could not complain as we were there as guests of a friend...such a shame as we were planning to take family there if any good..Will now look for somewhere else now.

The landlady needs a personality transplant miserable as hell, was there for Christmas meal, 2 slithers of turkey 2 roast potatoes and a mini ball of stuffing and a sprinkling of veg £13.95 . Better off at a carvery.

We have been working in the area for a couple of weeks and have used the pub for food and drinks on two separate nights. We couldn?t have received a more pleasant welcome from Rachel and her team. The food was truly fantastic and unbelievable value for money. I can?t believe some of the reviews on here , the place is definately worth a visit. If we could find a place like this every where we work , we would be 4 very happy lads , Thank you again , we will be back if we can,
