Great location for cannock chase forest events and download festival - air con wasn't working in our room which would've been nice to have.

We booked a room for 2 adults and 2 kids for 2 nights with breakfast for just under £200. When we arrived the room tariff was £189 per night so I'd recommend booking in advance. The rooms were clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. Room service is available but we didnt use it.Breakfast is relatively basic but was cooked well and served fresh. Options were sausage, bacon, beans and scrambled egg. 3 types of cereal. Brown and white bread. Croissants and mini muffins. Fruit and plain yogurt. Fruit juices and tea and coffee.Issues were that the room was too small for a family of 4. The room was stuffy and too warm even with the window open and air con on. The air con was loud and didn't appear to work very well. The duvet was really thick which didnt help with the room being so warm too.

Our two night stay was comfortable and we would consider visiting again. The room was ideal, well laid out and high quality bathroom fittings and lighting etc. Comfy bed and nice and quiet even with the A38 not far away . The breakfast however was disappointing, very basic and the food and coffee was of quite a poor quality. Staff were friendly and helpful, overall good experience. A very disappointing aspect was the £3 charge per night for parking, this was a blatantly unnecessary charge. I could understand if the hotel was in a city centre setting with limited parking around the hotel, but even then it would be unfair. This money-grab somewhat tarnished the visit and we would probably opt for the premier Inn further up the road next time in honesty.
