I had a buy to let mortgage with Skipton Building Society and I certainly would recommend, if you do decide to use them for a similar mortgage, keep a check on your payments. For years I was paying well over the appropriate monthly, interest only payment. When I asked they agreed I was right and put the monthly payment down. However, they didn't pay back any of the overcharged payments, or indeed, take the overpayment off of my original mortgage amount. Apparently they didn't need to advise me that I was paying too much, because it was a buy to let. When my mortgage term was over I sold the rental property, but in the time it took to go through, Skipton virtually tripled my monthly repayments. Obviously, all about money, no help, no advise. Definitely would not recommend them, or use them again.Diane - Chesterfield
