This is without doubt the worst hotel we have stayed in. And we have stayed in a lot. Cleanliness was not an issue but that?s where it stops. We had a huge issue with our booking, which the hotel blamed on central reservation team. Staff at hotel said they could do nothing about our issue. I spoke with the reservation team in the presence of the hotel manager. I was told I would receive a call back very soon with a resolution. It is now the next morning and I never received that call! The central reservation team I spoke to was based in the Philippines! The room is like something from a bad 1970s sci go movie with a big ugly plastic pod in the corner of the room for a shower room. It felt like being on a boat or on a caravan. We felt sick when in the shower room pod as it moves when inside, absolutely awful. The staff were pleasant enough and bought us a drink for our troubles, however they seemed to have no power to make a decision to resolve our nightmare. We stayed with our daughter, her husband and our two grandchildren , 12 weeks old and 4 years old, so you can imagine the difficulty and stress for them and us as the time was getting on. We are disgusted with Ibis and the hotel and will never use this company again. The Reeve Family

Had a Sunday night here and was pleased with all aspects of my stay. I always pre-arrange a rear facing room for peace and quiet. Yes there is a pub on the corner which can turn quite lively, but with your bedroom window shut you won't hear a thing. The whole hotel is decorated and furnished in an attractive contemporary style. Yes the rooms can get a bit stuffy, but outside the height of summer I always find them comfortable. The hotel is a short flat walk from the railway station and bus/coach interchange.

Bedroom was like a sauna and no aircon. Between the heat and the noise from street and next doors pub I really didn?t sleep. Dated room with minimal furniture and no spoons for the the sad tea and coffee facilities. Felt generally a bit itchy. Was not cheaper than other hotels locally, book somewhere else. Also charged me £20 early check in fee where any other hotel would offer this free if rooms are available. Very cheeky!

Great central location, just a few minutes walk from the crucible which we were visiting. Ample discounted parking next door. Modern and clean. Food and drink really good! Exceptional friendly and helpful team! Nothing was too much trouble! Highly recommended!!!

I am a facilities manager with 15 years experience auditing hotels. I was booked in to a double room for a week, July 2023, with breakfast and dinner included by work. First impression walking in was that it was dark and small, the reception is also the area used for dining and didn't seem large enough for the size of the hotel. The lady at reception was not very welcoming or friendly either. The reception was too warm, the stairwell was even warmer, the corridor leading to the rooms was warmer again... then you open the bedroom door and it's like jogging in the Sahara with 3 coats on. The ambient air temperature outside was 15 degrees, the air temperature in the room was 32 degrees, there aren't any rooms with Aircon and the windows open to around 3cm due to restrictors, the only solution that reception offer is a small desk fan which you have to go and collect yourself, they tried to tell me that the thermostat in the room wasn't accurate and the room wasn't hot, the heat rash and sweat patches I had developed led me to believe otherwise so I unpacked my work equipment and took a reading, it was 32 degrees after having the window 'open' and the 'fan' on for an hour. The water temperature from the cold tap is dangerously high, even after leaving it running for 5 mins, well over the 20 degrees that it should be below to control the germination of diseases such as legionella. There was blood on the curtains, probably from someone clawing for air. There were dirty marks on the bathroom walls and the shower is tiny, its a pod bathroom like you would find in a tiny campervan. I didn't have a shower because of the temperature of the cold water being too high, I didn't want to breathe in any spores from a water system that isn't maintained in accordance to health and safety laws, I don't think I could've fit inside the shower very easily anyway. It's one of the most expensive hotels in the vicinity and one of the only ones without Aircon. There is no fridge in the room. There is a very skimpy sheet on your bed with a card saying if you want a duvet ask reception, they should try turning the heating off instead and let the guest put it on in their room If they're cold, that would help the water temperature a bit too There are no drawers for your clothes, just a strange open wardrobe with a couple hangers on. The TV is smaller than my phone. There is no deadbolt or chain for privacy or security, any member of staff with a keycard can just walk in at any time. I checked in at 3pm and checked out at 5pm 2 stone lighter and gasping for air. Why anyone would pay to stay in this hellhole is beyond me, I turned it down even though it was free and I wouldn't go back even if they paid me.

Fantastic location for attending Ponds Forge and also close, very close to the City Centre. Easy check in, light breakfast available, ghr curry and rice on the evening menu was obviously microwaved, the chicken a touch tough and rice very plain and tasteless. That aside, the rooms are what you would expect, spacious clean and comfortable. .

The hotel was in a great location and was spotless. Staff where very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great hot and cold choices and all you can eat. Check in was fantastic and easy. The room was a good size and spotlessly clean. Bed was comfortable but the pillows were lacking filling. Temperature of room was warm and even though there is air con there are no instructions how to use and when putting on cool would revert back to 28deg and blew warm air but opening the window cooled the room down through the night. The bathroom was a decent size and the shower was fantastic. Lovely and clean. Cannot fault the hotel, staff or service at all. Would definitely stay here again if we are attending another concert in Sheffield. P. S. Even though no parking we did get 50% off the Q-Park over the road to the hotel so £10 for 24 hrs which I thought was not too bad. Thank you for a great stay.

The rooms at the Ibis Sheffield City are great for the price paid however the customer service from the employees are met during and after the stay was dreadful and unforgivable. The welcome was robotic, the employee had no interest in me as a customer, I was just a confirmation number and not a welcome guest to the hotel, I got the impression that I was an inconvenience to be dealt with quickly so that they could return to the back office as fast as possible. This disregard for customer service continued throughout the stay, evident whenever a request or interaction was required, it was a massive effort for any of the employees to provide any customer service provision whatsoever. Ibis Accor Hotels have provided me with some of the finest customer service during my stays at other hotels in their group, however, on this occasion, it was dreadful, borderline rude, and definitely disappointing and frustrating totally unwelcome. The location is good for the city attractions and public transport hubs. The reception area with the combined restaurant bar was welcoming yet another letdown was the bar product provision with only one inferior draught lager on tap and nothing much more variety in the fridge, this is the worst bar that I have experienced at an Ibis Hotel in the UK. The rooms are, however, great? they are well decorated, maintained and spotlessly clean throughout. The beds are comfortable with lovely duvet and pillows aiding a very good night's sleep. The Wi-Fi was excellent yet the small television was a little disappointing. The plastic unpadded chair could be better. The en suite bathroom was very good, also very clean, and with good pressure to the shower. I cannot forgive the terrible, unfriendly, unprofessional, and inefficient woefully inadequate customer service so I cannot recommend this Ibis Hotel

The hotel is very handy for the town centre Was made very welcome as soon as we walked through the door The room was ok needs carpet replacing or a deep clean was very dirty More storage space needed no where to hang coats especially as they were wet Only had 3 coat hangers needs more Shelves would be ideal as well even under the sink in the bathroom not enough space for toiletries We had 2 towels not enough when there is 2 females in the room Beds were comfy and clean Car park literally across the road its secure as well which was a bonus We will be returning some time next year
