Found a staffie in middle of bawtry road no collar, managed to get it and put on a lead, had no joy finding owner so nanaged to get it to rspca. The dog was all over the car it definitely wasn't a safe situation. Rspca said no we cannot take it and if I let it go I'm on camera and will be prosecuted for abandonment. Thankyou rspca no more charity drops from me. Terrible service I'm discussed

Rang them to help a pigeon which could have easily been helped at it was minor injuries... they nevertheless decided it was easier to put it down. This is despite the fact I asked them to let me know if they planned on doing that as I have rehab experience and would have happily taken care of the bird.In my experience they are terrible and always put animals down. I will never call the RSPCA for help again. If I could give them less than one star I would have.

Contacted about house clearance , as advertised. Really rude, generally not interested as they only have small shops!! So why advertise house clearance?

I'm not giving a bad review on the care of the animals but more to the way they treat new volunteers (this was years ago but I still suffer the effects still to this day).I was a work experience student doing my university degree, for my work experience I chose to work here at the RSPCA, being a big supporter of this charity for many years I was expected about working here. When I got there they were really friendly at first and showed me around and put me to work. The first week was great, they praised me and I was really happy there. The second week everything changed, I was helping clean some of the kennels one day and one of the old volunteers told me I didn't need to get rid of all the bubbles in the kennel, I answered nicely "I know, I just want to get rid of them all" (I wasn't nasty, or impolite). This was when things went further down hill as the volunteer lied to management saying I was nasty to her and said I was giving her directions on how to clean, of cause management believed her and I got in trouble for it, feeling anxious and shocked I talked a little bit about it to my new friends (not telling them the volunteers name). The third week when I came in I was filled with dread and full of anxiety, for some reason I knew what happened the week before wasn't gonna be dropped. The first day after the weekend they kicked me out, after taking me in to a room and basically ganging up on me. I was depressed, anxious and all I could do was apologise because my side of the story didn't matter.I will admit the one thing I did wrong was talk about what happened the day I got told off by management to my new friends in the break room. However in my defence I was shocked and didn't know what to think about it. Apparently I did a few sheets wrong while I was there too, I can only say that's a lack of training on their part, I was there to learn.Because of what happened here and a few other things that happened over time I ended up being diagnosed with anxiety and depression, this day still haunts me and still upsets me to this day.I want to say to people don't volunteer here, because I don't want what happened to me to happen to other people. I never came back here again because of that and my university was disappointed with them on how they treated me, along with my family.I'm happy to say this didn't affect my degree and my depression and anxiety is now under control after years of getting better. It's why I'm doing this review now, because I have the courage to speak about my experience. If you want to feel welcome and part of a friendly team I would recommend Thornbury Animal Sanctuary, I volunteered there for 3 to 5 months and loved working there.

We were so lucky to be able to adopt our kitten, Lois ( was Stewpot) from the rescue three weeks ago. She has bought so much joy back to our lives. We took her back to the rescue last week to be neutered and she has been absolutely fine. The rescue looked after her the night before the procedure to save us making 4 trips up the motorway in one day. It was much appreciated. The staff do a brilliant job and especially during the Coronavirus restrictions. Thank you
