not a good experience. their automated checkout is unreliable. you are supposed to put an item in their bin and it automatically finds the item and brings it up for payment. except the check out i used randomly added other items which were not in the bin and which i hadn't selected nor put in the bin and added these to my bill. when i quizzed this with the store person she seemed to imply it was my 'obviously' my fault and i must have added item in a previous scan - which i hadn't. she didn't really seem interested in finding out that the check out bin was faulty and other people may end up unsuspectingly paying for something they didn't want to buy if they weren't paying attention. It was all just 'never mind lets go to this checkout' and 'if you have a problem you can go to the store manager'. Meanwhile she left the faulty check out exactly as it was, never put a sign saying it was faulty and just left it for someone else to potentially get cheated when making their purchase. Also customer service was really bad, no one really wanted to help you and if they did after you asked for it it seemed grudgingly minimal.

Went today for a new electric bike, i didn't really know what i wanted,thanks to Sam who was so full of knowledge I have the bike i wanted,he left nothing unturned, proper expert in his field mega helpful, an absolute pleasure to have dealt with,awesome customer service, thank you ??

I appreciate that the bike service is by booking only, but would have been nice if I could talk and ask my question, but has been fobbed off within a minute with my son's decathlon bike. Not great customer service

Often use Decathlon Sheffield for a variety of running gear and nutrition which always reviews well in specialist running publications and personally exceeded expectations in quality and value.
Popped in today and needed some advice on buying various gear - Alex in store was more than helpful in providing advice and personal insight that helped my choices on purchases.
Great to see someone take a bit of time with customers to find what they need.
Definitely recommend Decathlons range, value and quality over more expensive, branded and often disappointing products.

Shaun was proactive in approaching me as I walked into the store. He was very helpful and professional took all my details and information to pass on to the bike service team. Later when I came to collect my bike, he again stopped what he was doing after spotting me struggling with the checkout. He politely and clearly helped me to understand what I needed to do. Shaun is a valuable member of the team ensuring that customers like me keep coming back. I was also very happy with my bike service including free labour to replace a couple of worn out parts. The technician again was friendly and helpful. He carefully explained what he had done and why.

We bought some paddles for a kayak and they were too short from the Wednesbury site, dropped in to the Sheffield site as was in area in business. No receipt but tracking down the transaction via my credit card the staff were able to give me an upgrade to the longer version so one very happy customer and excellent customer service.
