My Wife and I have a successful 5* catering business and we have much experience and knowledge in what is good and what is bad. We have chosen to eat at Massarella each week now for many years so we can truly say that the dependability of exceptional food and incredible staff sets this establishment above anything else in Meadowhall. The consistency of perfect food and staff courtesy is there every week.
Whoever interviews and chooses the staff is very skilled as we know how easy it is to employ people but to find exceptional good people like these is very hard. The longevity of your staff says it all as so unusual in this industry.
Timea and Ada, just lovely, so skilled and true ambassadors for Massarella, always make us feel special and it is that relationship with customer and these two amazing staff keep us coming back, they never stop working but always give us time, so professional, so nice.
Young Laura has a constant lovely smile no matter what and that?s not easy trust me when dealing with some, we watch this.
Darius, we often miss his shifts but he has charisma and charm and he looks after us very well.
Thank you to all the cooks. Thank you to all the team for just a brilliant time and such quality food each week. Thank you.

I generally don't do reviews , but this place deserves one. There were 4 girls who, depite the cafe not being too busy, literally did not stop working, They just keept going. If it stood still it was wiped! The manager was dressed very smart, the cafe was spotless and the staff could not have been more helpful. It was a genuine pleasure to sit and enjoy a coffee for 30 mins.

When all the places to eat in Meadowhall are rammed.. Don't forget to have a look here. Great grub served with attentive and friendly servers. Good value too, not the cheapest if that's what you are looking for, but worth a visit!

Very friendly service, was welcomed in straight away and the waitress was very helpful in explaining what each cake was on the counter. It's rare to find such nice service, so we will definitely be back ? We had the tiramisu and a scone - both delicious and presented prettily.

We come every Tuesday evening & the two ladies who are working Adrianna & Timea are extremely friendly pleasant & delivery excellent customer service accommodating our need (wheelchair space if needed)
We also made an unplanned visit tonight (Wednesday) & the two staff sorry we didn?t get their names were also amazing
Thank you massarella?s for employing such wonderful staff who think about their customers.

Please don't come here for good customer service. The waitress asked my friend, who's two months postpartum and clearly with a young baby if she was due another baby soon. Completely disgusting behaviour. They should teach their staff to keep their uninformed,unwanted, comments on women's bodies to themselves. Avoid.

My wife and I decided to try out this place as the scones looked really tasty.But can someone explain why £5.00 for a scone is a fair price?We knowingly paid £16 for the tea and scones.But we were perplexed how it was value for money?On our sconeommiter we rated the scones here around 6 out of 10.Still at number one the scones at Kedleston House restaurant.The reply from the restaurant that they can justify £5.00 per scone because they include a compost and mascarpone cream cheese demonstrates how out of touch this establishment is.
