Went for a Sunday carvery, omg it was amazing! A great new touch, honey roasted carrots! I could?ve taken the full pot, Mandy the manager was lovely! Real gem ??

To echo another customers review (a member of this same party,) we pre-booked a table for a party of 10 for 2:30pm today as it was to celebrate our parents wedding anniversary and we got there 15 minutes early just to be told that because we were ?late? our table had been given away to another party. It was poorly explained that the person who originally took our reservation over the phone must have booked us in for 2pm by mistake and we were classed as no shows and there was nothing they could do. I do understand that mistakes happen from time to time and businesses can?t afford to have no shows, but the attitude from the member of staff was appalling! We were obviously disappointed but the staff member just kind of shrugged and said that it?s a busy time of day and even if we?d have got there for 2pm it still wouldn?t have been guaranteed we would get a table together anyway, which we weren?t made aware of at the time of booking otherwise we wouldn?t have even bothered. To add insult to injury, the table that should have been ours was still right there and completely empty and remained empty as we waited in the bar area for around 20 minutes whilst deciding what to do next, as like I said, this was supposed to be an anniversary meal and was supposed to be a special occasion. Seeing the table was still empty, we asked if we could just still have it but was refused as it was now pre-booked for another party of 12, but surely that new booking wasn?t guaranteed for that party any more than ours was! And we were right there waiting!! they obviously didn?t want our custom and the attitude was that they didn?t really care anyway. It put a real dampener on what should have been lovely time and if I could give this place 0 stars, I would.

No table with a side order of attitude please....Was pre booked in for a table of 10 for 2.30 for a anniversary party.. turned up 15 mins early only to find they booked us in at 2 and was told they have given our table away.. also told us bookings was NOT guaranteed.. the table was still empty so I asked if its not guaranteed can we not just sit and order and was told no because it was booked for someone else.. absolute joke.. and the lady I spoke to would really benefit from a customer communications course.

The food was really good but the attitude and manner in which the manager spoke to me was absolutely disgusting,I asked if there was a different table to sit at to eat our food because it felt a bit cramped and squeezed in,the managers words were ?if I didn?t like it not to bother coming?this was said in front of other customers,which I found very unprofessional and rude

My parents are victims of the October floods, they don?t even have a kitchen themselves at the moment and we thought taking them out for a meal on their special occasion would be a great way to treat them but instead, it put a real dampener on what should have been lovely time and celebration and we ended up back at my house with a takeaway instead. If could give this place 0 stars, I would.

Rooms were not applicable, dirty sheets daily.They are clicky?. Local pub for locals?Shame new landlady didn?t realise I was ex bar staff from 5 years ago.I got booted at 10 pm, cos my dog was there?. So were others all day, plus Louis at night

Terrible mashed potatoes cold and had formed a slight crust, cauliflower cheese barely warm, green beans almost raw, carrots cold. Even the roast pots and parsnips were cold. Gravy was warm. Lots of meat in the portion that was the most positive thing. Needless to say we were disappointed and will not be returning

Went on fish Friday, lovely fish, chips and peas.Others in the party had steaks which were cooked right and tasted great.

Went in on Sunday for a carvey and I would like to thank the chef ,who I was told is called danny, for a lovey meal. Excellent service with a smile. I will be back soon.

Cannot comment on the rooms as we did not stay. Went for a couple of hours after we had been suit shopping for my son's upcoming wedding. I don't drink alcohol (medical reasons) and was on Diet Coke which came in the traditional coke glass bottle rather than being 'on tap'. We also had food. I had the fish and chips with minted mushy peas. The food came within what I thought was a very reasonable time, it was well cooked and presented, hot and tasted great. No complaints.
