Shockingly loud music and patrons, prime area, a real shame about the state of everything, could be a nice place with improvements, decor etc. Some of the staff were pleasant and helpful, maybe a heads up about parties and such before booking.Rooms: Cold and uninviting.

Called in for a birthday celebratory drink with my daughter & son in law. Decided to stay for something to eat which was very nice. Surprised to find that there was entertainment on, a female vocalist, sounded quite good and she sang songs from different genre's. All in all a pleasurable evening.

Its bar area downstairs had an musician act on and it was great, atmosphere was brill. We ate food there and that was also reasonably priced and tasty. Only issue is we stayed at the hotel which is attached and the room was poor, uncomfortable and very noisy from other rooms doors and floors creaking etc.

Rooms dingy. Beds uncomfortable. Decor filthy. Carpets old and worn. Bathroom shower wouldn't dare get in old limescale grubby. We didn't pay a lot but did expect to feel comfortable kettle filthy inside the whole feel of the place wasn't nice to point where we couldn't wait to leave. Ideal for ppl who work who not bothered where they stay. Don't get me wrong I'm not posh but I definitely will not be recommending this to anyone.

This has got to be the dirtiest hotel we have stayed in, and I have not slept and left really early was only in the room a few hours, well where do I start !!! The room STINKS The shower goes off every 5 mins u have to go outside the room and press the trip buttons the sink was full of sticky slime and hair and was blocked the shower ceiling is full of damp, no remote for the TV, bed all ripped, cob webs everywhere then to top it off there was sick all down the wall has been here sometime as was mouldy then we find mice droppings all over the dirty carpet, stains on the bedding it's disgusting and obviously the rooms are not cleaned or checked, this room should never ever been let out never mind being charged £63 for it I will be requesting a full refund, I have attached photographs

Sadly the pub trade entirely clashes with the accommodation which it seems is very much an afterthought... no soap/shampoo in the shower room was a good example of this but the main thing is the lack of sound insulation so you're basically in the pub at full volume when you're in the rooms, so sleep isn't very likely... until they close their primary focus downstairs. Loud music starts up again at 8.30 so no fear of a lie in either. The staff seemed friendly but again primary focus was downstairs.

This is honestly the most disgusting place I have ever stayed. Me and some friends stayed for one night to attend the races. Had it not have been a special event for my friend, I would?ve complained the second we arrived. However we had an hour to get ready and leave. The room myself and a friend were given was vile and guests shouldn?t be allowed to stay in it. The entire room stank of smoke and was stained brown, from the walls to the iron bed and the wardrobe- someone had clearly been chain smoking in it for some time. It was so bad that we opened the window wide open from the start of our stay at 3pm and kept it open when we left at 4pm. We returned at 11:30pm and the smell was so bad that 7 hours with the window wide open hadn?t helped at all. it was still difficult to breathe in. We both woke up multiple times in the night not being able to breathe (I?m asthmatic) and decided to pack up and leave at 7am. On top of this, the beds were awful, the wardrobe stank of smoke, the bathroom vinyl had a huge hole in it, the sink was smashed, the bathroom light didn?t work and the entire ceiling was covered in mould. There honestly wasn?t a single positive. The second I got home I contacted the hotel for a refund to complain about the absolute state of this room. (This room was much worse than the others our friends stayed in although they were also horrid) At first they were really helpful and someone said I?d get a refund as they admitted they had inspected the room, they needed lots of refurb, it had been closed off for guests and did smell of smoke. I was very understanding after they explained it was under new management and they knew improvements needed to be made. However, my refund never arrived. I continued sending polite messages every few months and consistently got told this matter had been escalated to ?customer relations? (pretty sure they don?t exist and I?m being laughed at, at this point) It?s been 10 months since our stay and all I want is a refund but realistically this won?t happen so now I just want this accommodation to be avoided- Even if you?re not looking for anything fancy when attending stag do?s/ hen do?s/ the Doncaster races, it?s not safe and I can imagine Doncaster has more comfortable/hygienic/ less smelly bins. Hopefully the videos attached show the full situation. I?ll be looking into taking further legal action as I?ve had long term respiratory complications since this stay from spending 7 hours in this room. I honestly have no idea who wrote the 41 excellent reviews but they?re clearly friends of the owners or must?ve been paid to write them. Not to overemphasise my earlier points but I?d rather sleep in a bin/ the street/a jail cell than stay here again. I just want my money and health back. PS- these videos were taken on a high quality camera. The air quality really was so bad that the entire room was brown/smoky.

First time I have eaten here and have to say the food was delicious and well priced. Traditional food well cooked and a good menu choice. We had lamb casserole and steak and ale pie.both were very generous portions . Well worth a visit. Pub / dining area could do with a bit if refresh but pleasant lunch. Would definitely recommend.

If you want a working shower I suggest you avoid this place, rest of room was barely ok for the price.

The bar is a nice bar to come to drink with friends.Quiz Nights are always fun.
