This was our second visit to this hotel. The first time we stayed in the aurelius suite which was absolutely amazing. We then decided to Stay again but in a different suite which was the balnea suite. Unfortunately, our expectations were shattered.
On our arrival it looked amazing, however once we started to settle in certain things became apparent. The room was dirty, both bedside table lamps and radio were covered in dust and not been cleaned for a while. The dressing table was dirty, scuff's on the mirrors. Most of the furniture was stained and very run down.
The bathroom was dirty when we picked the glass up there was a ring on the top of the sink and the glass was sticky. The bath was dirty and there was a hair in the shower. The shower screen was mucky. The towel in the toilet was tatty and frayed. You would expect more after paying over £300 for 1 night. There was no attention to detail at all.
The bed was like laying on a concrete slab both of us have woken up with sore backs. The quilt (if you can call it that) was paper thin to which when you lifted it up the light shone through it. It has definitely seen better days, no fluffing it up.
Breakfast: all you can eat buffet. However there was no clean plates we had to ask then wait. They ran out of sausages, eggs, croissants and water/ juice.
We expected so much more for the price.

Attend here for an afternoon tea, looked like I was going to be hungry BUT they were deseptive ended up taking cake home. Staff were helpful and professional nothing was too much trouble. Will go again.

I was booked in this hotel for Saturday 16th August as a corporate booking through my employer with a number of rooms booked. A few changes were made with the reservation names on the 14th August which should have all been fine as all really straight forward. Fast forward to checking on at 11.15pm on the 16th August and they apparently don't have my name or reservations even telling me if I have he correct hotel which I of course do. They proceed to tell me they have no rooms available now and left me stranded with no hotel and now being gone midnight and left with having to sleep in the car Fortunately about 1 hour later, our fabulous Head of HR gets in touch and saves the day and provides the details of the name change from and to and I go back into the hotel and have to demand that I am having a room that they should have changed which they agree to.
Never again will I stay in a hotel that has such little disregard for customer service. never once in the last 30 years have I ever been in this position with such gross incompetence from a hotel.
A complaint is in the process of being raised with the very least expected is the full refund of the cost of the room.

This is re: afternoon tea , the menu has altered majorly since last year , from the quality of the cheap white bread & the insufficient fillings , to the scones not being served at the same time as the cake stands , brought out on a plate for us to divvy up , to cakes being unimpressive & stuck to the stands , I wish I had a positive, but in comparison to last years offerings , I feel chef needs to seriously address the shortcomings in this current menu , as its cutting too many corners & isn't value for the price point. Also , left waiting for some time for a staff member to tend the till , just not the standard or service we've come to expect from this establishment - disappointed doesn't quite cover how we all felt .

on behalf of my new husband and me, we would highly recommend this hotel for your occasions! we had our special day here and it was amazing from start to finish! staff went above and beyond to make it everything we dreamed of and more. so organised and helpful, always someone there if needed. so many amazing photo opportunities. bedrooms are dreamy, definitely worth every penny

Stayed only 1 short night on the way back home, hence I chose only a standard double room, in the lack of time to take advantages of their spa and other services. But they have different rooms with different spa services which definitely worth to have a try if someone has more time to do that.
Bar/restaurant is nice, the whole hotel is very stylish (even for my taste some decoration is too much), staffs are very polite and helpful, rooms are very spacious, stylish, well equipped, (though a little fridge would have been useful), AC perfectly works, and I have to admit, I have never stayed in a spotlessly clean hotel room like this, so, well done for the housekeeper team, they do excellent work and I do appreciate that. (I worked as a hotel housekeeper supervisor in the past, so I know exactly what I am talking about). Pets are not allowed, which I really don't mind, because I know that even the very best cleaned pet-friendly room can not be compared with a pet-less clean room.
Seems I just missed the back garden where the restaurant has an outer space to enjoy our food in the fresh air. I saw only the little garden in the front with a few seats, which is smaller and for me a bit overdecorated. But their plants are amazing (well done to the gardening team, too) and the gardener is friendly:)
It is not a budget hotel, but definitely worth to stay at least for a long weekend to try out all the services they can offer. However, wi-fi was a disappointment, hopefully they improve that soon. Very easy to find them, just off A638, they have a decent car park. All-in-one, very professional hotel and highly recommended by me.

Absolutely fantastic hotel! Angela who is the reservations manager is brilliant, so organised and couldn?t do enough for you. A huge thank you to Mount Pleasant who has made our wedding so special, such a brilliant hotel! Highly recommend.

We went for lunch, so cannot comment on rooms. The garden is lovely and was being used by a newly-married couple taking photographs. The restaurant and food were very good, but it was a hot day and the air conditioning was a bit too fierce, otherwise can't fault it!

Excellent venue, amazing rooms and fantastic food. Only certain bars stock certain drinks. Plenty of parking.
