The only thing that is 4 stars about this place is the price. The staff, 5 stars, they have been great. The quaintness of everything else though: not cute.

Me and my partner had a lovely 3 course meal at the Robata Grill restaurant. The service from Ruby was second to none and made us feel incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived. We also want to thank whole team including Hannah, Gemma and Manish for making our evening extra special.
The parking was pretty full at the back of the hotel, but with the new and improved pay and display car park at the front, this wasn?t an issue.
We look forward to our next visit for some more food again soon!

Been coming to the crown every weekend after a walk with the dogs and having a breakfast on a sunday. We used to get a pot of tea each, but after a short time away from coming we have returned and found we only get one pot for two people and one tea bag in the pot. Has the cost of living affected the crown so much that they can no longer provide one pot per person? Has the price of tea bags increased THAT much or have the water rates increased enough to warrant this. A little bit too far really. If I came alone I would get the same so am I paying extra just for another cup.. COME ON CROWN GIVE YOUR HEAD A SHAKE..

Extremely disappointed ? security and service failures on our wedding night
We stayed at Crown on the night for our wedding, and the experience was shockingly poor.
We booked two extra rooms for six guests, paid for extra beds, and coordinated with staff in advance. Despite this, the hotel gave the wrong room (103) to three senior guests, with only two beds and no extra bedding.
Worse, around 11 PM, two other guests were given the same key to the room ? and walked in while it was already occupied. This is a serious security and privacy breach that should never happen.
One guest with asthma was left distressed. Another had to sleep in a ?desk chair? because of the lack of proper beds. Luggage was also not moved as promised.
When we raised this with reservations team, staff were unhelpful and dismissive, telling us to speak to someone else.
No apology, no ownership.
On what should have been one of the happiest nights of our lives, we were left feeling frustrated and deeply let down. This experience showed a complete lack of professionalism, care, and guest safety!

This is a sad little hotel.
I would like to start by complimenting the food service staff as they are all kind and attentive.
The cleanliness leaves much to be desired, however. Housekeeping seems to be in a hurry or completely overlooks the simplest things such as wiping down and sanitizing Sinks, tubs, and toilets. I have been stuck in this hotel for 3 weeks while working nearby. Although I usually leave the DND sign on the door, I have removed it frequently so they can clean and dust the room. It seems they do little more than make the bed. I cleaned the tub, sink, and toilet myself after allowing them several opportunities. I had to ask for spray and they provided PILLOW CASES to clean with.
Housekeeping didn't wipe the toilet or sink once. They haven't refilled the empty body wash/shampoo in the shower. The dust has piled up on all the room's surfaces.
It seems they don't vacuum either as there were crumbs on the floor upon my check-in.
I would equate this hotel to a dodgy Motel or Hostel and not an upper-end hotel as it seems online. I have added pictures of the white pillowcases that they provided me to wipe the tub with. Filthy after a single wipe. Clean pillowcase to the left and used to the right.
Rooms: The rooms are poorly cleaned. Many people in my group had spiders in their rooms on check-in.
Walkability: Lots of great restaurants nearby.

We called here for lunch this afternoon, we wanted to sit outside there was only one table left the waitress took our order and promptly told us we would have to pay straight away
Our food arrived it was lovely a little expensive for what it was but we all enjoyed what we had .
The waitresses cleared our plates but never asked if we wanted coffee or desserts so we left ?.. ??.a little disappointed
But I find this once you?ve paid
We would have had dessert and coffee but I?m not prepared to go looking for a waitress to order food

I was at my nieces wedding held here this weekend taking some photographer for the couple. The venue was really nice with lovely gardens. But the staff really made the event flow. They were all exellent, especially Hanna and Tony who looked after everyones needs and on hand to help with anything needed.
