All tasty food. Food grossly over priced for what you get. Sunday lunch is a good is a example. Basically you get the equivalent of 2 potatoes, mashed & roast, very hard carrot, tasteless creamy cabbage, meat & yorkshire pudding. Extra for cauliflower cheese. If you don't want the yorkshire pudding, they don't knock £3 off your bill, but charge you an extra £3 for another yorkshire pudding. Can cost over £18 for that. Disgusting. They are not big portions, hence the extras you have to buy.

Absolutely fantastic pub.
Family run.
Great, friendly, attentive service.
Brilliant selection of drinks.
It's the kitchen that sets this place apart however.
Everything is freshly made in house. Even down to the complimentary lavender short breads that come with every hot drink that you order. Simply stunning.
The menu changes regularly.
The portions are very generous.
Can't sing the praises of the puddings enough. Last time I was there, I had a pineapple rum upside down cake. Individually moulded. With a ladle full of fresh made Creme Anglaise. Absolutely stunning!

Not bad, of the 8 meals a couple were sub par.
Brisket burger was a minced brisket beef patty rather than being pulled brisket, which was a bit unexpected and tasted like a regular burger.
Tandoori chicken pitta was eaten due to hunger but poor. Pie seemed smaller than usual. Usually a very good place but had a couple of sub par meals recently.

Friendly service Great food with regular menu specials and themes. Good prices for a proper plate full. Wide bears and drinks selection, including tea and coffee all hours, for a sit and chat. Friendly staff well presented surroundings.

Went here yesterday for the first time my son goes alot they was 8 of us the food was amazing all homecooked best food out iv eaten in a long time staff are lovley prices are good portion sizes to can't wait to go back definitely recommend ?

Lovely place. Went for the first time as recommended by my friend.
Food was delicious and you got what you paid for, for the price the portions were pretty big!
The service was great and all the staff were lovely.

Went for a birthday meal, everything from start to finish was amazing.. staff very warm and welcoming, took to our table straight away. Couldn?t do enough for you when ordering food, everything we ordered was cooked to perfection, amazing value for money, and would definitely go back. A well deserved top marks from us ?
