We visited the hotel for a spa day. The location is gorgeous with beautiful views. The building is very clean and well kept. The reception lets you through a barrier to the Spa and gym..We are always looking for a relaxing space to sit and chill in our robes but the spa does not include a place or room for this. However we had coffee in the bar before getting changed. We opted for the children's play area seats as it was lighter there and we could see the view. The bar looks onto the pool but there is frosted glass half way up the window which I think is a great idea.We were shown into the changing room and given an electronic key for the lockers but these seemed very tempremental. There was a keep fit class in the pool so we went in the steam room which was lovely.Sometimes these get very hot but this one was just right .We had our light lunch in the bar and went to the spa area upstairs for a treatment. The waiting place for treatment was very nice..subdued lighting with artificial candles surrounding us.This would have been an ideal relaxing area.A few screens could convert this. The treatment was excellent. The room was very comfortable. I had a body brush followed by a massage.
Safety: Very secure.Reception controlled barrier to let you in.
Walkability: Car park was in front of spa.Spa is upstairs.I did not check for a lift but no doubt there will have been one
Food and drinks: Light lunch in the package was average
Noteworthy details: Beautiful surroundings.Friendly and helpful staff.Very clean and well kept building.Excellent massage.

I stay in hotels on average 2 nights per week. I always look for 3 things: location to where I am staying, a gym for the treadmill, and a nice breakfast to get me through the day.
On arriving, I was greeted by a receptionist that, as usual, kindly asked my name. After giving her my name and finding my booking, there was a change in behaviour. She turned quite cold. She told me quite directly my room number and that it is in the building out there as she pointed around the corner towards the building. She then asked if I?d like to ad breakfast for my stay. I replied I thought it was already on when I booked. She said quite sharply, 'no because you haven't booked directly and you don?t get that benefit. It?s £12 per day for breakfast.? Of course, I declined, and this wasn't just because of the cost difference. It was more the tone and rudeness of brushing me off because I didn't book directly.
I followed up by asking if I am still okay to use the facilities. She said this time with a smile and not a happy one that it?s £20 per night for the facilities as you didn?t book directly and then just looked at me as if to say, ?Unlucky.?
Again, I stay in hotels a lot. This is very rare. What hotels like this do not realise is that most of the time we find them through searching through booking sites. We have our first experience through them, and when we enjoy the stay, we use the facilities, we enjoy nice food, and it sets us up for the day. We remember that and call the hotel to book next time around. The booking companies do a first introduction. It?s then over to the hotel to make sure we enjoy our stays and are asked to save money and book directly next time with rewards and incentives. This is very common, and I do it a lot, but to be penalised in such a rude, cold manner and feel like I?m being thrown in the cheap, dated room in the outbuilding with nowhere to go, with nothing to do for 2 days, makes me feel like an unwelcome paying guest.
Needless to say, I won?t be staying again, and I will have to find another one in the area that has more time and respect for its guests.
It has potential, but attitudes need to change.
In addition, there was a lot of dust in the mugs.

Burntwood still put on good events with a nice dinner and a quality act.

Went to our Christmas party, food was great waitresses and waiters we're great. But I must state the manageress whom as supposed to have the best hospitality amongst them all needs to be taught a few manners very rude towards me,yes I might have been in the wrong but to be so rude was an understatement, our table and the next table all commented on it,other than her we had a good time.

Food and drinks: Delicious, great sized portion and great service in bar

I went here with work colleagues for our Christmas party night. We had a 3 course meal and were entertained by Billy Pierce. The food was tasty, and Billy had us laughing the whole time he was on stage! We found the staff to be friendly and they worked really hard in what was a very busy night!
The night would have been even better if there were fewer tables and space to have a dance at the end. Overall we had a great night and would definitely book another party or theme night.

Went for a wedding we booked a wheelchair friendly room as my wife is in a wheelchair.
The room was OK, nothing special. There were two heavy doors between reception and the bedrooms, which meant that she could not get to the room without someone to help.
The venue The Cube is not wheelchair friendly due to stairs. You have to go up the narrow driveway and through the restaurant next door to get in, and you can't get to the dance floor due to stairs.
There are electric car chargers, but they are in the staff parking area and are therefore blocked by none electric staff cars.
We could also not get to the breakfast area without going through another wedding area due yet again to stairs.

We stayed here for a couple of nights for my stepdaughters wedding. Overall, we had a good stay - it was clean and comfortable, the main meal was very good, and the staff were very friendly.
However, please see notes on breakfast, and the room.
Rooms: The room we stayed in was large, clean and the bed was comfortable. However, we were a little cold in the early evening and there seemed to be no way of overriding the central timer. Not a big deal, but worth being aware of.
Food and drinks: The thing that took the shine off the weekend was the breakfast. There is a flat £12 charge, per person, regardless of what you have.
Since we we there for a wedding, I didn't want a full breakfast (as we'd be having a three course meal), so just had a bacon and egg sandwich, and ordered a bacon sandwich to take away for my wife, who was having her hair done.
Both sandwiches were made with what seemed to be the cheapest, thin, plain supermarket brown bread, and weren't even buttered (see photo).
I had a pot of coffee, which was lukewarm, and an orange juice which (given my stomachs afterwards) I don't think was pure/fresh orange juice.
And for this I was charged *£24*. The restaurant manager was very apologetic about having to charge that much and I definitely got the impression I'm not the first person to complain about the policy.
The rest of the breakfast selection that I saw was limited.
As a result, we refused to have breakfast at the hotel on the second morning, and ate at Subz in South Kirby (recommended - see my review. We had two hot coffees, two fresh orange juices, a full English breakfast and a French toast with berry compote for £24.70).
This policy desperately needs changing as it spoiled an otherwise enjoyable and comfortable visit.

This hotel was absolutely disgusting and I?m not being dramatic. The dark wood furniture was worn, there was no main light just two lamps, stains on ceiling, damage to door, dirty carpets, threadbare & dusty headboard, filthy shower head. The hairdryer in the bathroom was from the 1960?s. I complained and was initially told there was no alternative room available. I was then offered an accessible room and when I complained to Sharon the manager she had the audacity to blame booking.com for the cut they take from the room rate. It was only when I asked Sharon if she would stay in the room when I showed her the photographs that she finally agreed to throw in a free breakfast. I had originally booked a year previously for a family wedding and had no choice but to stay. It was the dirtiest room I have stayed in and you get second rate treatment if you book through booking.com. On returning home I have tried to contact the hotel to request a partial refund as I had paid £270 for two nights. I was complete ignored. Please avoid this hotel as any complaints are not listened to and if you get Sharon you will experience the worst customer service I have experienced.
Rooms: In need of major refurbishment as the furniture is dark and worn. No main light in the rooms we were in. No blinds on the ground floor in either room or bathroom. The worst experience I have had bar none!!
Noteworthy details: The attention to detail in respect of cleaning is extremely poor. If you book through booking.com you will be placed in the annexe and treated like second class.

Disappointing and definitely not worth the money.
The hotel is advertised as 5 stars on Google, which I had my doubts about when booking but thought it looked like a 4 star online. For a family get together the superior family room seemed a good choice.
We booked in and asked about towels and robe hire for the spa across the car park. We were told by the receptionist that they dont do that and we'd have to use the towels from our room, but bear in mind they wouldn't refresh our towels for our morning showers. Across at the spa the receptionist said they have towels available, so I asked for some to save our room towels. However we were told as we'd brought our room towels we should use them and weren't given any spa towels despite us offering to hire them. This was ridiculous, for the sake of 3 towels!
Overall the hotel staff were rude and unapproachable with the only exception of the lady serving breakfast who was lovely.
The room is 3 star at best, with an old bathroom and small shower, old hairdryer, manky small panel heater, and only 3 lamps in a large dark room, poo stain in toilet, chipped wooded veneer; room decor very outdated considering we paid for a superior room. The only good thing was the comfy beds and quiet location. I wouldn't stay here again. The one night cost us £190 and totally not worth it.
The spa pool, sauna, steam room and changing rooms were nice.
Rooms: Rooms outdated and overpriced.

Advertised as a 5 star hotel, but it is absolutely nowhere near - the rooms are incredibly outdated, basic and in much need of a revamp. There was a musty smell that also made them feel unclean and the room was very cold - the small panel heater next to the window was insufficient. The Bar Restaurant was massively disappointing too - the food was cold and bland. The pasta and sauce were likely from a packet/jar. The only saving grace for this place is its location. We were due to stay 2 nights but ended up leaving a night early because of how underwhelming our stay was. We've stayed in nicer 3 star hotels. Save your money and book a Travelodge. Very disappointed.
Rooms: Dated, cold and felt unclean
Food and drinks: Disappointing - bland and cold

Food was delicious

This place is a complete rip off. We have stayed here a few times and the rooms are ok at best, we have always stayed on a weekend but got told this time you have to pay £20 extra each on a weekend to use the gym and pool, making this a VERY EXPENSIVE AVERAGE ROOM. We will not be staying at or recommending this hotel ever again. Do yourselves a favour and book Premier Inn, it's a lot cheaper and you know what you're getting...not ripped off!
Rooms: Average at best, the TV is very old and tiny, the furniture is very used and the decor is tired.

Went for a meal, not a stay.
3 course set meal, Sunday. Very nice. Nothing special but no complaints. Stuffed. Great service around the table but very slow at the bar.
