Stopped here for a day due to traffic on the way to London bac from Cornwall. Lovely place and the staff isn't very friendly.
Children friendly place. Breakfast was fabulous.
Water ran slow probably because we stayed at the top most floor.

A good community atmosphere. Well curated beer and a superb menu.

Can?t comment on the rooms as did not stay. Bao bun was excellent. Steak with blue cheese butter etc - my advice to chef would be to get rid of it entirely as it was very unpleasant and made my very nice steak taste rather like the smell of vomit (a bit like that cheap ready grated Parmesan you get in a cardboard tube). I actually love blue cheese/cheese the smellier the better. But what ever this was wasn?t a nice piece of St Agur, or equivalent, and although I took it off the steak, it was so overpowering in taste/smell it was just there.
Ketchup turned up in little Tiptree pots - but it wasn?t a nice posh ketchup (like Tiptree) and Heinz is actually very good - and I?d happily pay more for a decent condiment rather than something with a lot of vinegar in it.
I don?t think the pots were used to deceive - but I did think I was getting something I wasn?t and I think that?s a bit naughty. Just peeling of labels on the side doesn?t work when the lid is clearly from a Wilkinson and Sons jar.
Nice coffee, good friendly service.

We are blown away by this wonderful team. My family and I stayed overnight on a weekend trip. Our room was perfectly clean, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the breakfast was top tier. Most outstanding was their service -- kind, thorough, and they did everything to make sure we were taken care of. My son left his jacket and house key in the closet. They posted it to us in good timing and graciously declined our repeated insistence on compensating them for their troubles (we only covered postage). They truly care about their guests, and it shows.
I could not recommend this place more. ..a beautiful country pub with great human beings running it.

Seven former round tablets there for dinner, food was excellent, however having to wait for over and hour for it really spoilt the evening.

In Ilchester for a car service and dropped into the Ilchester Arms for breakfast. They weren't cooking at the time but they made a Bacon sandwich for me anyway ?? Really very good of them, friendly service that you remember. Thanks !!

Popped in for a drink initially and was tempted by a spot of lunch while there. Beautiful, cosy, country pub atmosphere. The staff are super friendly and we're managing super well on a busy Saturday lunch time. The dragon fruit cooler was so delicious that I had 2! Would highly recommend the Cajun chicken wrap which is packed with flavor and very filling. Love this little gem and will be back
