I went to the emporium cafe in Yeovil and was shocked about a member of staff in her 20s I would guess she spilt coke all over my new trousers and was unapologetic I will not go again and the staff are rude and bad at their jobs.

The Emporium has a lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff. They serve at least one dairy-free and gf cake (on the day I went - yesterday) and a good decaff, soya latte. The only thing to consider is to not order if you are very pressed for time (bus to catch etc) as it does take a while to be served when busy - but that adds to its relaxed atmosphere. It's not a fast food place by any means and what is served is lovely.

Enjoyed a light breakfast after a chilly walk around Minterne gardens.

Lovely surprise to find the café at the top of the building after mooching through floors of antiques. Comfortable chairs and surroundings. Good range of dishes with good quality ingredients. Had an amazing afternoon tea. Obviously a popular place to go. Dog friendly too. Friendly staff.Wheelchair accessibility: Lots of stairs not suitable for wheelchair

I?m very sensitive to gluten. The staff were very helpful, diligent and lovely. So, I would definitely recommend anyone with a gluten intolerance to eat here. Good 70?s music too.,

This place was completely unexpected upstairs above the Emporium where you will find all sorts of nik naks, antiques, curiosities, on two floors whilst browsing before finding yourself walking into a small snug of a room. Here you will smell the waft of coffee, food and the chatter of people, as you are enticed into the cafe via a smell set of stairs you see both conventional and unconventional seating arrangements for your drinking and eating experience. Enjoy!

To begin, an overview in short; this cafe offers an excellent wide selection of food and drink to chose from, catering for those that just want a quick bite to those that want a hearty meal. In addition, this cafe has a wealth of events on that cater for every audience. Would highly recommend. However, I would like to go more in depth, as 100 or so words couldn?t easily describe what this cafe and the establishment overall is. It?s unique. To set the scene; as you ascend the steps towards the cafe, you are transported to a chic oasis in which every way you look something new catches your eye. Cakes and pastries of all shapes and sizes grace the counter and there?s the aroma of coffee blended with freshly made food from the kitchen greet you. Depending on whether it?s self service for breakfast, or table service for lunch/events, the cafe team are always on hand to ensure that you are catered for. A special mention goes to both Flic & Julie; both show a deep passion for service, which in turn makes you feel as if you were in a top end restaurant. I have had the experience of having just a cake and coffee, a fried breakfast, and evening meals in the visits I have made to the cafe. Your portions are more than substantial, the breakfasts large and flavoursome. The wedges - couldn?t fault them! With regards to drinks, I usually go for the cappuccino; there?s not been one that hasn?t had the perfect blend of caffeine and dreamy milky froth on top. Onto the events - there?s plenty of them! If I wasn?t tied up with certain dates, I would absolutely go to more, such as the Gin & Jazz nights. I?ve attended quite a few intimate gigs with local band Velvet Thunder - if they haven?t achieved local cult status yet, they?re not far from it! You?re always in for a good night with specially made food & cocktails based on the event (e.g. Halloween), and there?s just enough room to get up and get down with the music. Before I conclude this tale of many a visit, I would just like to take a moment to say a massive thank you to the team for making my daughters 5th birthday extra special! My aim was to have a dress up afternoon tea, and you delivered?and then some! So finally a question. If you?ve read this far and are considering visiting the cafe?what are you doing?! Get yourself over there and experience all this and more!

Wow!! Amazing Breakfast!! We had A very full English Breakfast and Eggs Benedict on GF toast. Honestly knocks spots off local competition. Lovely staff! Great atmosphere! Love it here! Yeovil's best attraction ??? We even went back later in the day for coffee and cake, the Parsnip and Pecan cake was Delicious! Who knew? ?

Regrettably on this occasion our experience was marred by what otherwise was a lovely breakfast. The front of house staff having taken a drinks order promptly on arrival left us hanging for what seemed an eternity. Despite asking to order at the counter and contacting waiting staff twice to let them know we were ready we were pretty much ignored until another member of staff presented a lunch menu. When management became aware, apologies were provided and put down to us 'hiding' in a corner and staff training. Customer service sadly lacking and when our food finally turned up a request for sauces initially fell on deaf ears. Despite this the very full and classic were both nicely presented, tasty and hot. If I were to be picky the bacon was a little dead for my pallette but edible. At just over £40 for two people it's not the most expensive or cheapest but feel there are other comparable venues close by that don't present these challenges.
