A little hidden gem. A good old traditional pub that does a basic but by far the best tasting, well cooked carvery. Make sure you get a tray if you like a lot of gravy! Everything was outstanding. All well priced with plenty of parking and not a single cold veg in sight. I tried the beef it was perfectly cooked browned crispy edges on the outside and pink inside, seasoned well and not full of fat! So definitely a 10/10 for me as puts any mainstream carvery to shame.

The Nelson Arms is the best carvery ever my family have been going here for 24 years we love the cosy atmosphere and the carvery is just so delicious good home cooked food the staff are amazing they will always find you a table we wouldn't go anywhere else.

Pretty standard carvery fare, better than most. Meats plenty of, and genuinely of good quality, too. Veg was rather bland, no surprises there, and just one gravey as expected, for beef,lamb, pork, and turkey, although pleasant enough.If you want a carvery sunday lunch, lots to eat at a fair price, you'll have to look hard to find better value, anywhere.No, it's not top drawer, but if you want that, you'll have to look hard, book, and pay twice as much.

You just won't beat their roast dinners and the excellent service that goes with it just makes it one of those places you go again and again!Kid-friendliness: Service is excellent from those running it and were chatting to the kids. Huge kids carvery portion.
