I do not recommend this vet. I regret ever taking our dog there. Our dog started displaying unusual behaviours and symptoms around May 2023. We promptly arranged a consultation with a vet at Pets at Home. He was given steroids that alleviated his symptoms for one day. We were told that if there were any concerning behaviours again, we should come back, but we left with an impression that we should not worry about him. Over the next two months his symptoms become progressively worse. One day he was on the beach which was his absolutely favourite place, and instead of enjoying it he started to pant heavily which was completely out of ordinary. As advised before, we immediately brought him back to the vet and asked to be seen urgently. The receptionist went into the vet's room, came out and said that he should take some deworming tablets, and if he gets worse again, to come back. From that time things had gone really badly for our beloved dog. I did some simple research online and by looking up his symptoms (that have previously been discussed with the vet) I knew that prostate cancer was one of the potential causes. I did not want to even believe that this could be it but our happy boy's health had not bounced back to normal for months, so we knew it must have been something serious. I called Pets at Home and asked for him to have a blood test and an abdominal scan. I was told that this cannot be arranged without a consultation. I explained (in polite terms) that I had already wasted a lot of money on remedies that did not work at all as that the vet knew the history of our dog very well, or at least should have known it very well by then. I was told that another consultation was needed to "look up his medical history" and that I was unable to order the blood test or the scan without it. I had previously been told that if he did not get better, they would carry out blood tests... This became ridiculous, so we changed vets as our boy was visibly uncomfortable and deteriorating. We transferred to Green Pastures Vets and within one week our boy was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer. He had another two months with us (until 21 October when he passed away) and was on an appropriate medication. I thank universe (and most importantly a dedicated and empathetic vet at Green Pastures) for these two months that he had with us from the time of his diagnosis, however, I cannot accept that he had needlessly suffered so long without any diagnosis or medication due to what seemed to be a completely negligent and profit-focused approach of Pets at Home. Avoid. This traumatic experience of uncertainty and worry lasted for our family for months until we transferred to Green Pastures where we were listened to and taken seriously. Our dog was clearly just a number to Pets at Home.

So many lovely products to spoil your best fury friend. Its a real shame that their website, app & click & collect are so poor. I struggled ordering from the website, so I downloaded the app, which left me with a migraine. Eventually managed to place an order & then heard nothing from them. Not good customer service. I wouldn't recommend using online. Just go into the shop.

We loved this smaller store. It's the first store we have found with shelves so high off the floor, it's great for those who like to check for dropped biscuits underneath and boy were we in luck today. Having helped clean up we ommitted the cheaper little treats at the till, but hey they give us funny tummies anyway. The parking spaces by the hedge were plenty big enough for a small campervan too.
