Rang and asked for a last minute reservation for an evening meal on Friday night. We were told on the call , that is was very busy and that was fine for us. We arrived and the place was buzzing with locals and some people that were obviously staying near by, the outside beer garden to the front was packed, live music as well. Lovely array of fine beers, local ciders and lagers to choose from. There was a fantastic choice on the menu and a well stocked special boards. My daughter order the homemade house pie, with home cooked chips and wow, she said it was one of the best she had had, I went for the Hunters chicken, again with the home cooked chips and it was fantastic. My husband is always a sucker for any fish special and in this case, again he wasn't disappointed, fresh Mackerel. The presentation and portion size was spot on. This is all home cooked food, plenty of it, served on pipping hot plates, well worth the wait.
The bar staff were all very welcoming and like I have said they were extremely busy, which is great to see for this good old village pub again. If you can't find room in the front beer garden, there is plenty of room out on the back sun terrace.

I stayed overnight. Breakfast was included in the room rate.
Everything was very pleasant. The hosts are very kind and caring.
I advise you to book rooms through their official website, it's a bit cheaper.
There are rooms that are dog-friendly.

Visited this lovely village pub last night for dinner with some friends. I had a homemade lamb and mint pie with chips and peas, followed by the warm chocolate brownie with chocolate sauce, which was all really delicious. A lovely selection of hearty classics e.g. fish and chips, lasagne etc and a good range of options for children too (ham egg and chips, sausage and chips etc). Good beer as well, all served by friendly staff in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Popular with locals and visitors.

This is a decent family pub serving good food and excellent ales. The pies are Priddy Good Pies that are local to the area, and packed full of meat (highly recommended!). The pub is always clean and the service friendly and attentive. A traditional old pub, with a lovely atmosphere - a pleasure to visit.
Vegetarian options: There were at least two vegetarian options, which we thought was impressive.
Kid-friendliness: Families are very welcome here.

Went on spec for lunch, very pleased. The food was delicious, the beer was perfect, the pub was clean , the staff were helpful and friendly and the service couldn't have been better.

Booked a table for Saturday evening and had a very enjoyable meal. My wife had the Butterfly Chicken and I had the 10 oz Gammon Steak from the specials menu. Both dishes were delicious and perfectly cooked. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I would recommend this place to anyone.
