Staff always friendly and helpful. Always ask after my kids who had accounts there before moving abroad as adults. Much prefer to online banking.

What is happening with banks. I tried to take an isa out today, it's so easy to do but not so in Santander. Apparently there is nobody there to do this. You can do this online I was told, I don't want to I'm here in the bank. Very poor service.

This small Santander branch is our local. Its super friendly and always helpful. You just have to be a bit more organised around the short opening hours and plan your trip.

Drove all the way into Wells, parked, walked to branch. Closed! 3.20pm - (sign and Santander Web page states open 9.00am-4.00pm).

I was asked to take my husband's Death Certificate to the branch for certifying by Santander's Head Office. The person who served me , a young man, told me he was unable to help, but eventually he agreed to phone HO. He discussed my mortgage, the Death Certificate and whether there was any alert on my account loudly with everyone in the building able to listen. Apart from being humiliating it was extremely distressing. He either had absolutlely no training in client confidentiality or chose to cause me pain. His behaviour was contemptible.

Tiny Building Society with very large queues with staff who I think, do not like visitors, as I was served by a man who was having a very happy & relaxed chat with the couple in front of me, but when it was my turn to be served, he became very serious & miserable, as when I tried to talk to him, I just got one word replies, so obviously my face didn't fit, and it made my transaction a very depressing one!
Next time I'll use the cash point to save all the hassle.
