Pleasant pub with good service. Our visit was only marred by the very poor pizzas. The pizza dough was hard and scorched at the edges, and they used a strange kind of stodgy cheese paste, more like bechamel sauce than mozzarella, which completely covered and masked the tomato. There was also some unidentified grated cheese on top that didn't melt properly and tasted odd. The vegan burger and chips were good, however, apparently.

Lovely, well maintained, clean comfortable. Shower in the ensuite was a bit rubbish and the bookcase in the way of the room door was a pain to get stuff past. Otherwise the staff were lovely the breakfast was great. Car park and beer garden lovely. Dogs were made welcome too. Would definitely stay again if I needed to be in the area.

Lively bar... Good mix and great atmosphere... Didn't use the rooms.

Everything you want from a room comfortable bed quiet and roomy with good clean shower and bathroom right in the centre of Wellington (parking at rear of pub) with cooked breakfast served in pub bar with really friendly landlordDownside slightly quirky furniture in room, on the second floor up 2 flights of stairs
