It?s a reasonable version of the store we know up and down the country. Smiths on the high street isn?t what it used to be, but it?s nice they are still present even if no longer a go to store

WHSmith post office staff pathetic today. Saturday lunchtime closed for 90mins due to alleged staff shortages yet there are 3 of them just stood there, there are no customers?. The place is like a graveyard!

Came in town today. There was one gentleman with a beard and curly hair on the post office. He was the only member of staff in the whole store. He needs to be paid 3 times as much as he gets paid because he was doing everything and not only that he was absolutely fantastic at his job and his customer service was still faultless. He should go work elsewhere where he can actually be appreciated. I really felt for him.

Utterly Broken Store
A single checkout that shares a queue in the most non-sensical manner with the post office. Every single one of the self checkouts were offline, 1 member of staff was on the till. Queuing for HALF AN HOUR to get to the SINGLE post office counter. Complete and utter joke. WHSmith need to take a long hard look at their store planning.
I've given 2 stars because the lady at the Post Office counter was pleasant and very efficient under what must be extremely trying circumstances. Will not be setting foot inside WHSmith Taunton again. It's pathetic.

Terrible would score zero if possible - late opening and when you enquire if the newspapers had arrived as they are not on display staff member rolls eyes and begrudgingly states ?I will go and get them?. After waiting 20 mins still not out so left store and walked to Morrisons.

Absolute joke of a store. The check out and post office system is ridiculous. How are you going to have 2 staff working during a busy Saturday afternoon?? Feel sorry for the staff working who are getting grief because they don't have enough staff working during peak hours of the day, especially during holiday season. Went in as the Post Office travel card app wasn't accepting payment for two of my families travel cards, going on holiday in just over a week, waited 45 minutes in a long and draining queue just to be told you have no travel cards left?? Why not make this clear via sign before we queued for ages waiting just to be turned away with the only solution being "customer service." Absolutely shocking display of management and care for customers.

Real shame how much the store has deteriorated since I was last there. Massive queue for the post office where one poor staff member was dealing with annoyed customers. No sign of a WHSmith staff member so made the mistake of using the automated till to pay for a tube of glue which then needed staff permission to proceed. Waited for 10 minutes while the till alarm sounded, walked around the store looking for a staff member but nothing. Finally a delivery driver arrived who went and rang at a staff only door and finally someone arrived, the staff member themselves was friendly and apologetic and I don't blame them for the poor organisation. Had I not already put my money into the till I would have left, and I'll certainly go elsewhere in the future. Sad to see a shop that I frequented so much in previous years go downhill so badly.

Honestly I can?t describe the feeling of dread whenever I have to enter this store. Never in my life have I met more lazy and incompetent staff. Today, I walked in to obtain a form from the post office. Due to the lack of people working (so typical) there was a queue of at least 7 people. I have been to post offices before where they didn?t have forms (shocking I know right) and to avoid standing in a queue for a long time (I?m almost 8 months pregnant) I asked the girl at the till if they have forms. Her glorious answer: ?they should?. Just for me to stand in the queue for 20 minutes and find an entire wall full of forms that DOESNT REQUIRE A PERSON TO QUEUE. One would think that the useless toddler behind the counter WHO WORKS THERE would advise someone to just go to the massive wall with the forms but no, it?s ALWAYS easier being incompetent. Never have I had a positive interaction with the glorified crèche that calls itself WHSMITH. Shocking and a very clear indication as to why this country has the struggles it has.

I dropped a parcel of 18.6kg on 20/9@ this WHSMITH fore street, paid £98.70 , the parcel is going to Szeged, Hungary, Parcel not yet delivered for almost a month, I was giving a printed receipt which I misplaced and unfortunately I don?t include tracking services because I ddnt have enough left after paying £98.70, I went back to lodge a complaint, they claimed they ddnt have idea of what could have happened , I pleaded to gv me a duplicate of my receipt ,cos that was only thing given to me as an evidence, declined my plea saying they couldn?t go back for receipt, I asked if there is anything to show that the parcel was sent from their end but nothing to show , I couldn?t believe this , just interested in collecting money, I?m highly disappointed,How can you just collect money, no pix of the parcel sent, no documentation , I?m highly disappointed
