Regularly been here for fish and chips over the years, never had a problem until now. First off the chips were fine, but the cod was very, very poor. The batter was so tough I had to literally saw my way through and it was hard and brittle to eat. The fish was unbelievably dry, chewy and tasteless. It had been overcooked so much that I was unable to eat it. Hugely disappointing.
I visited the shop on the 11th Sept, no I didn't take the food back - I am local but am a few miles away and in the middle of packing to move house, so needed to get on after taking time out for a visit to the shop. I appreciate your response though.

Called in last night just after nine and ordered fish &chips and a curry sauce,the fish was full of flavor and the batter was excellent.
Probably the best fish and chips I have had in twenty years.

I read the mixed reviews before I came. I had a very positive experience. The food was great. Generous portions. Proper fish and chips. The staff were friendly. I'd definitely eat here again.

My partner called here only for a small chips and two buttered cobs in which the staff had no idea what a cob was and tried to charge him £17 as they thought he wanted cod when we finally ate the chips they where very dry and chewy not worth the money don't understand the other raving reviews.
