Good little supermarket where I can buy most things.Staff are friendly and helpfulStock is good, though often essentials run too low for a towns main shopHandy Hermes return pointGood Bottle section and snacksSome nice fresh rolls and bread tooAltogether a good little shopIt would be nice if they had a coffee machine in there. There used to be a coffee shop in store that was popular. People often want a coffee without going into a local cafe and they are often closed anyway!Crazy closing times in general in Somerton. Where do tourists get a meal or good coffee in the late afternoon?

Small supermarket. Typical product range available, but there wasn't a lot of bread on the shelves during my last visit, but they could have been waiting for a delivery

Used to have a cosy cafe where you could get a bacon sandwich or a nice cake...now it doesn't even have a coffee machine :(

Now I'm used to " where most essential things are", I enjoy shopping there, fully staffed check outs on buissey times would be an advantage .some waiting times are testing. The electronic check outs dont give the flexibility that other grocery outlets have. The planning for several new build estates and the influx of young families, will be looking for larger supermarkets.geared to speed things up. as Somerton grows at its present rate, there will be many changes in a short time. Great selection in the co op though !!

The staff have been so helpful until Friday 11th. Long queues at both tills, I only had a basket so went to the kiosk, I asked the dark head bespectacled chap politely if it was OK to be served & he said "no, go wait at the tills." he was doing nothing & serving no one..One of the ladies stacking, said, "you can go to the kiosk you know." Having told her he'd refused to serve me..... Nothing happened... No manager appeared & nobody rectified the situation.Wow. I'll be going back to Tescos in Langport. Appalling. Won't be back..

Good selection of products on offer, i know it?s a chain but i do think it?s an improvement on the old place in terms of price and items sold.
Apart from some really top members of staff this store is the most boring place on earth,it just went downhill when it became COOP. Anyone feel the same ?

Great shopping experience and choice

This store which had replaced the familiar Williams family-owned business 5 months ago must offer quite one of the worst shopping experiences of recent years. Many of the original staff have been retained and they seem as frustrated by the customers who cannt find what they they are looking for. Even the staff can't see items on the top shelves when asked for directions. (The member of staff who directed me t the Scotch Eggs section apologised that there seemed to be none in stock. There were - but they were on the top shelf above her reach.) I am lucky in being over six feet tall but there are so many customers of an older generation wandering aimlessly round the store trying to find the simple necessities of life. Items that were available last week are no longer on the shelves. The shelves themselves reach to the ceiling so trying to find one's shopping partner is an orienteering exercise in itself. Trusted old-faithful items have been repaced by the ubiquitous CO-OP brand alternatives while more shelf space seems to be devoted to wines and crisps than daily necessities. This morning I found sausage rolls, bread, pizzas and creals in at least two , if not three, different locations withing the store.I was told that there was nothing the local staff could do about it because the ethos and stocking policy is dictated by Head Office. Head Office have their head in the clouds. Send a team down and just observe the lost looks on your customers faces.Having a monopoly in a community does not entitle you to inflict big city selling tehniques on a middle-sized country market town. The Williams family knew this only too well and were enormously apprecaited by the town. You need to get your act together.

Not as good as previous shop, no jacksons bread, yorkshire brack, pickling onions, pickling vinegar or spices, the deli is sorely missed with a now limited selection of factory cheese. 99% of fruit and veg is prepacked in non recyclable plastic. And btw Mr Richard Williams reviewer , indeed, you own the business. No comments, no review just a 5star tick for your own business. Says it all for me.
