Garden centre is pleasant with a variety of goods for sale. Cafe was very poor, a lot of food items not available. Although queue was not over long service was very slow, which meant food was going cold by the time we paid. Cleanliness behind drinks station not to good.

Customers with dogs barking at the tables in the cafe should be a massive NO ENTRY. Who wants to put up with barking while trying to have a bit of lunch ?

Visited Dobbies, Shpton Mallet today, 29th Feb. At 1.30pm I was surprised to be told that there were no baguettes or jacket potatoes available. Had a cup of tea before decided to try the 2 for 1 offer on fresh cream scones, available from 2pm.... Unfortunately there were no scones available at 2pm and still none when we left at 2.20pm. I'm guessing the cream scones had been kept back for the £20 per person "Mothers Day" cream tea !!!!!

Visited today and it wasn't good. Arrived at 14.00 and there were a few sausages, 5 pies and a small amount of chips. OK so we might have been a little late for lunch. Afternoon tea? No better one just one scone and cream and a poor selection of cake. Having traveled 25 miles it was a complete waste of time, Come on it's about time to start living up to your name. PS, staff were no better than the food on offer.

Shopping experience ok, but the lack of gluten free cake options spoiled an otherwise good experience. Pity...

Thought we would stop and have a cuppa, as a treat thought we would have breakfast! Bad idea!!!! Ordered a veggi breakfast £7.99, quorn sausages included. Well, wish I hadn't bothered, it was the worse breakfast I have ever eaten. Sausages dried up, tasting funny, well it all tasted funny and cold. Hubby had a full English and his was the same, funny tasting and cold. Neither of us had more then a few mouthfuls. One positive we enjoyed the tea. Don't think we will be returning anytime soon, if at all.

Came here because we had the Santa Experience booked for child and dog together. great idea and love the fact you allow dogs too. Santa and the elves were great but the experience didn't last long compared to other events we went to over December. the 2 stars are purely for the effort of those involved in the Santa experience. however, we had a bad experience in the café beforehand. Arrived early for Santa (as advised on the booking) sign on main entrance confirms you are dog friendly. On arrival my toddler said they were hungry (after several breakfasts like every toddler) so headed to the café to grab something to keep them going, sign at entrance of café says no dogs. Cant leave my dog alone in the car because he sets the alarm off so got child and dog to wait at the entrance of the café while I went in to see if we could get something to takeaway and eat in the car. A few people in the queue and conscious my child and dog are waiting (could see them clearly the whole time though) I tried to catch the eye of the server but no luck. The gentleman in front of me tried asking the server a simple question but he was barked at because she was dealing with another customer and obviously cant multi task so waited my turn. when I got to the front I asked if they could do anything at all to takeaway I was given a very blunt 'no' as a response, she could see the child and dog waiting so knew I couldn't come in but offered no alternative or help (just a sausage sandwich in a napkin would have been great or even one of the big cookies etc but it was clearly too much hard work) Had to buy snacks in the Waitrose part of the store to eat in the car before seeing Santa. if you are dog friendly then why can't you have a small designated part of the café that allows dogs too? I would have happily spent more money getting food for toddler and most likely a coffee for myself while we waited and even had a look around the shop but after that hassle we waited in the car until our time and left straight after. didn't feel as welcome as I had imagined.

Lovely breakfast! Hot and fresh with new food coming out regularly while we were waiting to be served. The lady kept our meals warm whilst the other lady made our hot drinks. I can imagine it getting very busy having to wait like this, but we had no problems at all. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful.

Yelping dogs is unacceptable when trying to enjoy coffee and a snack; as if their presence in a cafe wasn't enough!

** CAFE REVIEW **Food OK, very pricey for what it is really. Probably wouldn't return
