Me and my partner were travelling down to Cornwall and wanted somewhere to stay halfway to break the journey up. We couldn?t have picked a nicer place with more lovely people. Glen, Kathy and the team stayed up and kept the Inn open as we got there quite late and the room was absolutely perfect!

Great welcome from staff and owners. Good beer and ciders on offer in a proper free house. Accommodation was very comfortable with a nice breakfast, will be back soon.

Not really dog friendly...dogs only allowed in unattractive entrance area.
Beer was only just okay.
Lots of signs telling you what not to do.
Good size car park.
No garden but outside drinking area.

We booked a Sunday Roast for 26 family members, our annual Christmas gathering. We did not know what to expect as we live far away but this pub is halfway for all of us.So accommodating, welcoming atmosphere, very pleasant staff, excellent service. The food was very tasty, plenty of choice, big meal and hot, served with a smile.Highly recommend and thank you to all at The Duke of York ??

Food & drinks: We were on a weekend away in Chard and wanted a Sunday roast. Our friend found this and it was well worth the 20 minute drive. Quite easily the best carvery I've ever eaten and extremely good value for money. We are planning to do the same break next year and are already looking forward to returning for this meal

Lovey carvery with a wide choice of food which all tasted delicious. The beef and pork were both cooked beautifully. Very friendly staff throughout the pub. Great little find on a Sunday.
