Annual eye test. Very comprehensive .Cost of new glasses reasonable. Wide range of frames.All staff helpful, understanding and friendly. I have very poor mobility.

Once again my yearly eye test was due . Great time in my local specsavers and as always great fun and jokes with the staff. Couldn't ask for more ( well coffee and a couple of Biscuits ) . Lol !! Well don't to the Team at Portishead .

It has been a series of unfortunate experiences, one after another. The first time I visited for a contact lenses appointment, even though I've been wearing them for over 20 years and know I don't need a prescription, they insisted on it. In the end, they didn't charge me due to their own mistake.Upon returning for a second appointment, they claimed I hadn't paid, without even an apology. I agreed to pay immediately. Throughout my interactions, there were odd looks, giggles, and a lack of professionalism in their customer service. Regarding my appointment, they informed me it wasn't scheduled for the following week, despite my certainty that it was. After settling the payment, they mentioned they would try to fit me in.During the appointment to test the contacts, they didn't fit properly, necessitating an order for new ones. This was understandable.On my subsequent visit, a friendly receptionist greeted me, but others, including managers, appeared to be giggling and unfriendly. It might have been coincidental, but it gave off an unprofessional atmosphere. There was an odd tension among them as well.After completing my subscription and about 6-7 months later, I realized I didn't have enough contacts for a 14-day trip. I contacted them, explained the situation, and they informed me the contacts would arrive after I had already left. I requested assistance, suggesting a trial pair or any available option, even offering to pay. They said they were out of stock and scheduled an appointment for the following week. I requested them to accommodate me sooner, emphasizing my 20-year experience with contacts, but they kept interrupting, insisting they needed to physically see my eyes.While I understand their procedures to avoid legal issues, there should be more flexibility for long-term contact lens wearers. Both the company and the specific branch should consider this. Initially, they told me I could purchase the lenses at the counter, but then informed me otherwise, with no alternative except for a post-vacation appointment.As a result of these experiences, I've decided to cancel my subscription.

Had a new frame and lenses a couple of weeks ago. Popped into the store today to point out that the lenses did not seem set correctly. The person who served me was, by chance, the manager. She immediately agreed that the fitting was not right and, literally within five minutes, my lenses were put in a new frame and they were completely comfortable. I was delighted with the efficiency and pleasantness of both manager and store. Thank you for excellent service.

Very professional and knowledgeable staff.The optician who examined my eyes was very good, she explained everything I needed to know very well.I didn't feel rushed although the store was rather busy.Overall a very good experience.

I had an optical scan today plus an eye test. My eyes have been uncomfortable for a few months, and I came away with ideas for home treating them. Having tried these out tonight - heat on my eyes, drops, cleanser, I feel better, and relieved it's easily treatable. Thankyou Specsavers team.
