What an excellent hotel. Fantastic location - right on the Marina and within walking distance of the town; it's not even that far (~20-30 mins) to the seafront. Fantastic staff - friendly, welcoming and efficient. Fantastic rooms - spacious, clean and with everything that you need (including a wonderful shower). I only have two (very minor) complaints. First, the room was rather warm and the supplied fan was ... well ... useless. Second, the pillows are ridiculously soft and provide no support. But honestly, those are teeny tiny little niggles. On the whole, this is great hotel and one that I have no hesitation in recommending.

If you want to stay in Portishead stay here. It says it's budget but I would put it on par with other branded places to stay. Had everything we needed. If you need a hairdryer reception has one. I took my own. Tea, coffee and milk provided. Hand, hair and shower gel provided. The room was clean and the bedding and towels fresh. The bed was comfortable too. Also had a fan provided. It is located by Lidl. If you park in the car park the entrance is to the left of Lidls entrance. Don't worry about eating 500 feet away is a J D Wetherspoons. I would say this was the quietest hotel I have stayed in. So don't be put off by its location. There is a beautiful marina just across the road also with bars & restaurants. We will certainly be coming back.

This was a last-minute stay booked just a few days before, and we were delighted to be allocated a room on the top floor with a lovely view over the marina. I assume however that rooms on the other side overlook Waitrose! Check-in was easy although we had to wait until staff arrived at around 2.30pm. The room had everything you would expect, tea and coffee, plenty of towels, and was clean and well presented. My only problem was the room was too warm during the night so I did not sleep that well, despite having the window open as far as it would go. For this reason I have docked a point, otherwise it would have been top marks for the money.

A motorway stop for low fuel. 20p per litre more expensive than normalfor me.

Used this hotel as a stopover en route to Torquay so really only wanted somewhere to sleep to break our journey. Room we were given was on the side of the main road so was very noisy. Constant traffic till late at night then starting again at around 7am. It was a very warm night and no air con so had to have window open all night. Mattress very uncomfortable and felt like a spring was coming through so because of this, i didn't have a good night's sleep. The bedding and towels, even though were clean smelled of cooking oil. The breakfast in a bag was different but you got a decent selection in it. But......on the whole it was clean, the staff lovely and friendly and even housekeeping staff said hello. I would happily stay at an Ibis Budget hotel again, I just hope they invest in better quality mattresses.

Good point: it's always quiet. Bad point: it's quiet because it's normally expensive compared to other fuel prices in the Bristol and Somerset area. Also, the car wash breaks frequently and goes though much of the year closed for maintenance. There's not much choice though, this is a small town.

Beware of discount labelling on wines. Have just spent £3 more than I intended as the discount covering the label for the wine I bought was actually for the same brand but Rosè version on the shelf above. Pointed this out to the assistant who just laughed in my face.Very misleading.

Such a shame, because location is stunning and perfect, rooms are a great size, it's well priced and so convenient and I would love to stay here time and time again, but maaaaaaan, was the room absolutely disgusting. Good ole titanic style hand prints all over the wall above the headboard which was so obvious when the back light was on, I know people like to do the hanky panky when they are away but you don't want to be in a bed staring up at the handprints on the dusty wall seeing the evidence on what's gone on in that room previously. Hair all over the shower, poo or blood on the wall in the bathroom especially next to the toilet roll holder. Masses of dust build up in the carpet edges and a perfect shape of where the doors are pinned open when they do eventually hovered. I don't like being negative or complaining but if my husband was here he would've gone down and sorted something as it was gross, I just felt dirty, I didn't take my shoes off unless I was in the hanky panky bed. I did do the feedback form that was left via email but absolutely no response from it so heres my review. Sorry folks! But do better, you are letting yourselves down because you are in such a beautiful place.

We found the Ibis to be what it says on the label. Budget but for all of that the position next to the Marina made up for it. Huge Waitrose , Lidl and Aldi next door. Yes, traffic noise but close the window. Great to be able to open one. Free parking right outside. Only gripe is lack of a couple of glasses for water in the room. Coffee mugs were fine but !!!!!!
