not very good, starter so basic a five yr old could have done it, fish n chips so bad that it beggars belief, a proper chef would never have served it up, 50 minutes to serve our lunch, wait time was far too long and the pub was not really busy, it really showed that it was a case of profit over good food and good service, wish I had bought a Greggs cheese sandwich now, will never eat in here again, food server did not wish us bon appetite or check if everything was OK, go and eat somewhere else

We went for an elderly family members birthday lunchtime meal. Prior visits had been good so we were expecting much of the same. Issues arose when ordering food at the bar. The young lady taking the order showed little to no customer service skills, and appeared disinterested. I was served the wrong beer to the one I ordered, but didn't make an issue of it. \nSome of us chose two courses from the lunchtime menu which was ordered at the time of payment. The main course duly arrived at the table. One of the party had ordered a side of veg. It didn't arrive with the meal, so he asked about it. The same young lady who took the order, and served the meals at the table went away and came back, and informed him, it hadn't gone through, and asked if he'd like to re order it. No apology for her mistake in missing out the order, or making amends. Obviously there is no point in ordering and paying for a side order when you are halfway through a meal. Things got worse. No dirty plates collected and no signs of the desserts. Twice the same female was asked when the desserts would come out. When they eventually did after at least 30 minutes, they were plonked in front of the wrong people by the same young lady who took the original order and had served us previously. She couldn't even be bothered to ask who they were for, and and didn't have the decency to speak. Completely rude, and clearly in the wrong job. To top it all the desserts, apple crumble and custard were cold. We didn't even waste our breath in complaining. Won't be going there again, until some changes take place.

Steve and the team are a fabulous credit to The Albion. The ambience, the venue and the good food are all of a level above what you would expect from a pub. We had Sunday lunch and the only issue was slightly al dente vegetables but great value for money all the same. The service was very good and we will visit again soon.

??????????\nWe recently enjoyed a lovely evening at The Albion pub and were thoroughly impressed. From start to finish, the experience was seamless and satisfying. We opted for the three-course meal, beginning with a beautifully baked Camembert. The duck main was cooked to perfection, tender and flavourful, and the chocolate and salted caramel dessert was a decadent finale that hit all the right notes.\n\nService was excellent throughout. The waitressing staff were attentive and friendly, and the food arrived promptly without feeling rushed. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, striking a great balance between relaxed and refined. It was a genuinely enjoyable meal in a charming setting, and we?ll definitely be returning.

We have been here in few times in the past when travelling down to Devon, but this is the first time I feel I need to write a review about this lovely restaurant, the menu has changed since our last visit and it gets our thumbs up, I had the signature burger at only £12.95 , my wife had the sirloin steak which was cooked to perfection and my daughter had the pulled lamb shepherd pie again cooked and presented beautifully. The whole place was clean and inviting, our waitress Grace was excellent and her knowledge was appreciated , the girl behind the bar I think her name is Layla was fab , acknowledged us as she was serving another customer at the time and served us with a nice welcoming smile. We will be back next week on our way home , this time I'm going to order The Butchers Board as another table ordered this and wow it looked lush. Well done to the manager and his team

Have been a regular here for years, food and service was always great. Massively let down today when we popped in spontaneously for a roast dinner. 4 adults & 2 children. The food arrived after 45 minutes (wasn?t massively fussed) the adults portions were the same size as the kids dinners.. in fact the kids had more food on their plates as we were missing the extras, plus the veg was brown and dry. When we showed the manager he was very rude, didn?t give us any chance to have a conversation with him and actually made it quite embarrassing. I have never asked for a refund before but because of how we were spoken to on this occasion we decided to finish our drinks and leave. The staff in general were lovely, the manager seems to have no customer service skills. Will not be returning whilst he is still there. Would have taken pictures if we wasn?t so in shock with how we were spoken to.

Returning home to Portishead after a few days away we called in for lunch, just before 13.00 hours. We were surprised there was not any fish available, especially as it was Friday. \nOrdered tea for 2.there were 2 cups, 2 tiny jugs of milk and a pot of tea. Which did not give us 2 cups. . I asked the waitress for hot water, not realising we had only been given 1 tea bag. As you can imagine it was almost undrinkable. \nOur food arrived so we did not complain. I ordered chicken, which was deep fried. The plate was swimming in fat, I put my serviette in it to soak. How could the ?chef? not drain the fat off?\nWe have eaten at the Albion often, but it seems like there is a change of staff that the tea and the fish were served as if prepared by a 7 year old. What has happened ? No one came to ask us how our meal was. \n It left us both extremely dissatisfied.: J&P Portishead

Had to wait 50 minutes but this was explained on arrival. Roast arrived massively disappointed portions were small and no cauliflower cheese - simply stand alone cauliflower. On asking I was told it is cauliflower cheese! Dirty toilets definitely won?t be returning.

The Albion in Portishead is a fantastic spot for a drink or a meal, offering a lively yet cozy atmosphere. The standout of this pub, however, is undoubtedly the manager, Kieron. Not only does he run the place with exceptional professionalism, but he's also incredibly good-looking, which definitely adds to the overall charm of the pub. His friendly, attentive nature makes every visit feel personal, and he ensures that all guests are treated like VIPs.
The pub serves a great selection of drinks and delicious food, with a menu that consistently delivers. Whether you're popping in for a pint or a full meal, Kieron's presence and excellent service make it a memorable experience. If you find yourself in Portishead, a visit to the Albion is definitely worth it?not just for the great atmosphere and food, but for the added bonus of Kieron?s charisma!

It was great. The food was prompt and tasty. The drinks / beers were good. The ambience was nice. The Albion is our 'go to' pub for a family meal / meal celebration, and it has been for a year or so now.
