Absolutely fabulous little tea rooms. Serving delicious food and snacks. Very welcoming couple who run it too. 2nd visit when we're that way... love it!

Very rude service. No food available at 3.30 on a Saturday. Young girl serving got mixed up with our order, said we were wrong when it was actually her. Then announced ?they said it was wrong. I was right then? in front of the whole cafe. Made us feel very uncomfortable. We were then brought the bill while only half way through our tea. Then we were told ?just a reminder we?re closing in a minute.? Still only half way through our tea. Then the man hovered next to our table until we left. We were there 25 minutes altogether. The most unwelcoming atmosphere and such rude staff. A real shame.

Wasn't very hopeful after trying a cafe down the street which didn't have anything gluten free....but was excited to discover Whortleberry's had gluten free scones, cake, and some the tastiest gf bread I've ever had! Warm and welcoming staff and great food. Highly recommend.Dietary restrictions: Plenty of gluten free options

Went for lunch and it was so good went back later for cream tea ! Probably the best cafe in a small town we've ever been in. Attentive service, super quality food and outstanding ambience. Nothing over-the-top bust as it should be - real quality

We had a delightful lunch in this lovely traditional tea shop. The food was excellent and the service was friendly. There are plenty of tea shops in this part of the world but this one is the best of the many we?ve visited.

Popped in tea room whilst staying in Porlock. Family of four plus two dogs. Sat outside in the lovely garden. Very friendly greeting and well catered for. We had two vegan and one gf in our party and we were all catered for extremely well. Staff very knowledgeable. My cheese scone was delicious. Thank you.

Great homemade cake selection, you just can?t walk past the window without gazing at the cakes and being drawn in. The couple that run the place are very friendly and efficient even when fully seated, which they were on the two occasions we visited. The coffee and walnut cake gets a definite 5 stars!

A great interesting cafe. The tea, loose keaf, was superb and all the home de cakes and snacks looked terrific but we opted for a scone and a bit of coffee and walnut. Excellent quality and super service. Really enjoyed it. Will let well behaved pooches in too.

A lovely run traditional tea rooms with superb selection of home made cakes, scones and local jam. The owners are very welcoming, both taking take the time to chat with clients. Spoilt for choice of whether to go for cream tea or one of the huge cakes, which we all elected to do so, and we will have to return for trying the others very soon!

Amazing example of an english tea room, service was exemplary, staff very accommodating including Willow the dog for belly rubs. The home made walnut, Victoria sponge and scones tasted amazing. The Whortleberry jam was beautiful and a first for us. Thank you, we will definately come back.

Had a wonderful lunch here today Delicious homemade broccoli and Stilton soup followed by an equally delicious slice of cake The owners were very attentive in spite of the fact that they were very busy And as a solo traveller I felt very welcome Will return again the next time I am in the area

Arrived at about 1.15pm , no welcome from owners just to tell us it will be a bit of time to get to us . Decided to get a table outside so then followed instructions to then go out of garden round to front and order ( ridiculous system) Lady owner saw me waiting then shook her head then rudely told that there were 3 tables ahead of me and it would be a long time ? I wouldn?t mind so much but both of the owners were so damn right rude we left . Trouble is theses places get to big for their boots in high season and don?t really care for your custom at all. Do not waste your time and money here instead go to Horners tea room about a mile down the road where you are greeted and treated like a paying customer. To sum up Whortleberry Tea Room.. Rude and uncaring and maybe invest in some staff that have a smile when they greet you.

As a family group of four plus dog it was a perfect place to eat. The atmosphere was welcoming and Helen & Shaun were so pleased to see everyone. The lunch snacks were beautifully presented and very tasty we had intended to have cakes for dessert but were too full. We took away a variety of cakes to eat later. An hour later the flapjack was just too temping so was eaten. I phoned Shaun to say it was the BEST flapjack we had ever eaten. Well done Shaun. We will drive 20miles again soon to stock up.
