Lovely, well kept pub, good food, great beer that's kept properly.Wonderful friendly place, and functions as a village hub with parcel services and some fresh food too.

Visiting family who live in Croscombe and stayed for two nights for bed and breakfast. Breakfast menu was great, with plenty of choices. We were with two other couples and all three rooms were spacious with excellent ensuite facilities. The pub is cosy and full of character and we were made to feel at home. As an added bonus we used the skittle alley at the pub which housed 24 adults and children for a friends and family skittles challenge.

Visited today for lunch. The beer was fabulous, the hosts so friendly. Really lovely ambience. Great log fires. They have a very useful little shop and take Evri parcels. But the food was out of this world and amazing value. We had a roast turkey with all the trimmings, the vegetarian roast, scampi and chips and fish and chips. We had puddings of mango sorbet and pannetone bread and butter pudding. The homemade damson icecream was sublime. The quality was exceptional. Visiting family for the weekend and can't wait to return to try the rest of the menu!

Just wow! Cannot say enough about this fantastic village pub and B&B. Stayed this week as attending a very dear friends funeral and all the staff were so helpful and hospitalable. The room was excellent and I had a great night's sleep in the very comfortable bed. Great shower and had a wonderful chat over breakfast this morning with Peter and Veryan - fascinating, warm and very interesting people. I just mentioned that some of the others coming for the funeral might meet at the George and that a few may like to eat...........??When 15-20 people arrived, Peter and Veryan served them breakfast like it was no trouble and couldn't have been more helpful and friendly at the drop of a hat! It really made for a special start to a sad day and I was so grateful to them.A true village pub which seems to be at the heart of everything. I thoroughly recommend it - I will certainly look to stay again when in the area.Thank you all so much - you're amazing!Food & drinks: Wonderful breakfast- Eggs Royal hit the spot.Everyone enjoyed what they ordered - beautifully cooked and delicious ?Noteworthy details: Nothing is too much trouble. So friendly and a really buzz about the place

Was disappointed with the vegetable lasagne, hardly any vegetables, it was like just eating the sheets with cheese. Won't order that again.

10 of us had lunch at The George Inn after my mother's funeral in September 2023. When we called in beforehand, Natasha was really helpful in providing different menus and suggesting a room that we could use.On the day, The George was really excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful, the service was prompt, the food was delicious, and we had a really nice room to ourselves. It was also very good value. I'd definitely recommend it for a good meal in nice and friendly surroundings.

We went here for dinner last night, and thank god we did, this place is a must, I promise you won't be disappointed. Janey and her partner are the most excellent hosts, friendly and accommodating, and the food is Delicious, we had steak, soup, camembert, children's menu, Irish coffees, honestly absolute compliments to the chef, its warm, inviting, cosy, the right amount of ambience, one would think you were in a scene out of "The Holiday". Not to missed, we will definitely be back!!

This place was such a good find! My friend and I go away at this time of the year to explore various gardens and we picked to stay here as it was close to Wells. Having stayed in Wells once before, I remembered that the parking wasn't very easy so we decided to stay a short distance outside. Our hosts, Peter and Veryan, were the best I have ever come across in an establishment of this sort. They and their staff were so personable and did everything they could to make our stay so comfortable. Veryan was the breakfast chef and everything was cooked fresh to order and Olly was the restaurant chef. His guinea fowl risotto we had one night was out of this world (and we were keen to tell him so). A special mention should also go to Janey who was on hand every breakfast time. The pub also served as a small village shop and a drop off point for Evri parcels, all of which made it the hub of the community. Villagers would call in for their daily paper or milk and would stop for a coffee or even breakfast. I have never seen anythng quite like it - so impressive. The place and the weather really have made this a memorable holiday for us! Thank you.

I first came here in May 2023 -we sort of fell upon The George by accident and had a really delicious meal. I returned again last week with my son and partner for an evening meal even though it was not on our planned route. Again the food was delicious , the staff were really lovely and nothing was too much trouble. The general atmosphere is welcoming and friendly. I will take a detour again no doubt to enjoy the hospitality, atmosphere and tasty well cooked food.
