One star is doing this place justice!
Upon arrival we were welcomed with casual racism, telling me who I was, I couldn?t be the other guest because the other name didn?t match my race. We were shown to the room and told that if we wanted food or a drink to go to a pub down the road even though the establishment was a pub itself. The room was dark, dingy and smelt of cigarettes. It had clearly not been serviced since the previous guests had left. The bin was still full of rubbish, open conditioner and face wash left on the sink. There was toothpaste spit all over the taps and sink. A large area of mould in the shower and grime around the shower hose. There were cobwebs and dust around and the bathroom floor had not been hoovered or cleaned.
I suspect the bedding had not been changed as there were visible hairs and insect crawling around under the duvet. The dining table had not be cleaned as sugar was scattered across it. An extremely stained chair in the corner of the room. There was a large hole in the wall where the curtain pole had been ripped out exposing the bare brick behind the plaster. Safe to say we did not stay in this establishment and drove the 4 hours home the same day we had traveled down.

Arrived to a dark pub, which also served at the main reception. The room was dark and smelt damp and very dusty. When asked about breakfast was told cereals are on the table, milk and 2 yogurts in the fridge for 2 adults staying 2 nights!! A toaster but no bread etc.
There were cigarette butt's in the tay beside the bowls. Someone's half used shampoo left in the shower tray. Cobwebs and dust everywhere. I think they just opened the room, put clean sheets and towels in and that was it.
Avoid at all costs

First impressions run down broken plant pot to entrance not good sign.noone in bar..no hot food told to go to another pub..welcomed into a shed like room..dusty..damp..cobwebs with spiders..dirty shower..runs hot and cold with previous tenants belongings in..including toenails on bedside unit and carpet...breakfast consists of yoghurt and butter with added breadcrumbs....blinds dont work.. noisy traffic..suggest sack the cleaner!!! Not worth the money don't even look at this place.

The whole place is damp and dirty. Public areas need a good clean, toilets are covered with dust and everything is grimy. Our room and my brothers room stank of damp when you open the door. There was mold in the shower cubicle, bins hadn't been emptied and there where cobwebs everywhere.

Arrived on a wet cold day. Doors locked nobody about. Told by a local the owner had gone shopping. Had to sit in car and wait. When he arrived room.not completly ready, pub cold and in disrepair. Used toilet in bar, nothing to dry hands with. Although the room was tidy,clean and cute it was not welcoming due to no heating being put on. Advised not to be heavy handed with toilet handle. Breakfast was toast and cereal to be made by ourselves in the room. No food available in the pub. No WiFi in the room.

Second part, for those who have read the first....., of the review regarding the disastrous trip to Cornwall organized by the living and traveling agency of Cento... If you want to see a ruin in Radstock and its surroundings.....go at the George inn......ruins piled up everywhere...scary to be filthy. Upon my arrival, the owner informed me that the room was not ready yet.....and meeting by chance a charitable couple, they offered me their hospitality once they knew that I had to go there.....words of local people .The judgment is yours...

I would definitely recommend very lovely friendly staff and very welcomeing it very warm and cosy feeling. Also they do lovely hot food and I would definitely come back

We popped in for a meal and it was brilliant, good service and good food, even came back an ordered a whole large lemon meringue pie.

Absolutely disgraceful owner or person in charge didn't have a clue we where even coming. room was mouldy everywhere smelled horrible looked nothing like the pictures. the bar is doing so well it shuts at 7 30 on a Saturday night . Avoid at all cost place is disgusting. £80 not worth £10 . Dirty bedsheets very uncomfortable beds

Stayed at the George inn last weekend for a night as we were diving nearby. The host was really ncie and friendly and offered us a choice of rooms on arrival. He also suggested a local place to eat and made some drinks recommendations of the local cider (which was delicious). We thought we'd left a set of keys and when I called he went and looked for them (they turned out to be in a bag we had with us) but the host was super helpful and really nice. The room itself was lovely. It had everything you'd need for a short stay. The bed was comfy, good shower, nice clean room and the road was pretty quiet. We had a great night's sleep there and then we're able to help ourselves to the breakfast provided which was fab - no rushing along to a set breakfast time. Would recommend this place and hope to stay again if we're in the area again.
