Since Weston Super Mare high street Specsavers blend in perfectly with the empty shops, graffiti covered windows and other buildings look so deplorable it feels dangerous just walking down there. Luckily there are a couple of buskers who you could take cover in their very large musical cases while they scupper after their contributions. It is a digrace to see the state of the buildings on the High street and especially the lane next to Santander which is full of rubbish, tons of aluminium cans, but because this Government refuse to think logically as the Swedes do,they are losing literally billions of pounds in not recycling every aluminium cans or plastic bottle. In Stockholm every shop that sells produce has Tomra machines ( made in Norway at a cost of £10.000 each. A very small price to the fines the EU issued.....20+ million or even 80 ,this was just before we left the EU with No one really knowing the consequences and vote because it's more of a family tradition rather than what politicians offer. We didn't even get a vote on Richy Billionare Sunak!! So much for democracy. Back to the Tomra machines. If you save every can and plastic bottle and reusable plastic bottle for a month,as a single person you can take them to your nearest supermarket and as soon as you enter there are 2 ATM looking machines but with holes in. You put your can in the hole and a vacuum rips it out of your hand onto a rotataing pulley scanning the bar code in a nano second. You can hear them being crushed and when you are finished, say 50 cans in a minute you press a green button and a receipt will come out for about 5-10p per can. The crushable plastic bottles 5-10p and the recyclable hard plastic,20p. This coupon can be used in the shop to buy anything you want and change will be given. Sweden has a population mostly assylum seekers and refugees so because of this they are not allowed to buy or rent in the centre of town. I worked as a Bailiff once and went to where all these mixed nationalities live, about 20 mile radius from the centre. When I first arrived for my career as Art Director for Sweden's largest selling newspaper magazine I couldn't understand a word, could barely pronounce the company I worked for either. My boss said....everyone understands English if they don't then Swedish is hardly top the list as most people understand English. You will get it. I did and in 6 months had an argument with a guy who thought I was trying to pick up Swedish beauties. I told him I am English and there are prettier women in England than here where you better watch out or you will end up like Australia where inbreeding makes many people look alike and some of the women have noses that look plastic making me wonder where the fake moustache had gone. Well considered 7 million is the population we don't actually know. We spend £8000000/ day to house the boat people who are caught. Where are the hundreds of thousands of those who got here some other way like on a truck or just let in. Anyway I went to our local MP in 2017 and asked him why we don't have Tomra machines? His ridiculous answer was that they had tried this as a pilot scheme in 2007 and parents were letting their kids put their toys in the machine and breaking them. I told him that things have changed dramatically since then, the world has realised that we have destroyed the Earth with our constant demolition of the Brazilian Rain forest to make grazzing land for Mac Donalds. First everyone understands and would never allow their kid anywhere near the Tomra plus others in the queue would stop any idiots from messing with the machine. The Gov. must inform the public that climate change is happening and is the cause, make people bring their own bags when shopping or pay 5p for one. Got no money go out and look and I could guarantee this person could recycle 3 cans in less than 5p. Well MP Penrose. He couldn't answer my questions. I told him u must inform the public to bring their bag or buy a bag for 5p. This will never happen as long as he is an MP. No

As a live in carer I?m not located in my hometown, and can?t just nip into my regular specsavers who are always good to me. So decided to come down and get my glasses tightened. The customer service was absolutely spot on, I honestly couldn?t fault. So pleasant and understanding, and did exactly what I was after. Funnily enough, I?ll be moving down this way, and will be going out my way to come here for future visits. Thank you very much

Very pleased throughout my visit to Spec Savers in Nailsea. The optometrist was particularly reassuring.

Can not thank them enough after being told by neurology to get pictures of my eyes before being referred after blurred vision and headaches. Specsavers throughly checked the back of my eyes and pictures showed blurry discs and made sure I got an emergency referral and sent everything my doctor and neurologist needed over within 48 hours and was later finally diagnosed with iih and saved my eyesight getting any worse. Can not remember the opticians name but she was amazing and all the staff were lovely and talked me through everything. I will now be a regular customer as have to have eye tests every 6 months now. Thank you specsavers
