As a family of 10 we descended on the team at the Porlock Weir Hotel last weekend for my Dad's 80th birthday celebrations.Communication prior to the weekend was effortless, with all our queries being answered swiftly. We all stayed over on Friday and Saturday, the rooms were comfortable with high quality mattresses, the attention to detail was exceptional and we all slept very well. Our meals were out of this world and the three course meal on Saturday night for 15 of us could not have been more perfect with every taste and requirement catered for.Michell, Miguel and all the team could not have done enough for us, they have a fantastic attention to detail and nothing is too much trouble.

We had a very warm welcome & excellent stay at the Porlock Weir Hotel - staff were great, too. The room would get a higher rating if there were more hanging space for our clothes (maybe a hanging rail on castors to tuck into a corner?)

Don't expect any food between 2. 30 pm and 6pm. Go to the Coffee house instead. A good selection of food at good prices. Friendly staff and excellent food.

Such a lovely hotel! We threw a surprise birthday party for my wife with people arriving from everywhere and the staff bent over backward to keep the secret, moving us from a table for two to a table for 10 after the surprise. Beautiful table in the library for us as well. We stayed in a Harbor Room overlooking the whole of Porlock Bay, left the window open at night and our dog got her own bed. Very dog friendly hotel with a garden out back and dog treats behind the desk. Food was great especially the seafood, pizza was ok, breakfast hit the spot. The wine list was crazy good with what seemed like 20 bottles by the glass. Better deals to be had from their website than via third party. Great walks along the coast in both directions, free parking. Brilliant weekend.

Can?t fault this place. Have stayed twice now and the staff are great, rooms excellent and food excellent. Views over the harbour are hard to beat on a sunny morning. We will be back, thoroughly recommend this place.

Delicious food sitting outside the hotel today. Particularly yummy garlic pesto. Throughly relaxing location. One of us left our phone on the table which was kindly retrieved by staff and now happily reunited with it?s owner.Food & drinks: Delicious food sitting outside the hotel today. We spent a delightful three day break in beautiful Porlock Weir. This well presented hotel includes many extras for the comfort of guests that you will not see in hotel chains. We particularly liked the guest pantry that, not only included little cakes, fruit, extra biscuits, cups and drink sachets, but also a fridge containing a jug of fresh milk. There is even a sink and draining board to allow you to clean your shoes (polish provided) or doing washing, etc. All the staff are very friendly and food is of a high standard but beware, the portions are huge! We had a delightful room overlooking the harbour which we felt was well worth paying the extra for. Unfortunately the rain didn't allow us to enjoy the garden, so we shall just have to return to enjoy this attractive feature, hopefully with some sunshine next time. We don't have a dog but we noted many guests did. They were certainly made welcome and all were well behaved and not a problem at all. We highly recommend this hotel.

We went for lunch to sample the oysters which were fantastic. For those that do not like oysters the mussels were some of the best I have ever tasted full and succulent wit all the trimmings. The dining area décor is just perfect.
