“This place was the absolute highlight of our 16 day trip. Porlock Weir is small and calm and it became our daily ritual to watch the tide change.
Locanda on the Weir is a lovely place with so many lovely pictures and items. I think I counted more than 50+ pictures alone in the room we had breakfast. Every day I noticed something new. Lucy and Pio made us feel very welcome and we enjoyed listening to vinyl records in the lounge while enjoying a cocktail. They only have 4 rooms so the atmosphere is kept intimate even when the place is fully booked.
The room was lovely and spacious with a very comfy bed. The food is Michelin level and breakfast was almost the highlight of the day, except for the day we had diner, that took the grand price. They only offer dinner 4 nights a week so you have to settle for the pub or the oyster bar across the road some nights.
Everything was exquisite and I would definitely go again.”

“We stayed one night in this charming seaside hotel. The hotel is dog friendly and has good parking. It’s in walking distance to the seafront and the town but it is on a hill which is perhaps not too good for people with mobility issues. The overall makeup of the facilities and rooms are tired but clean and serviceable. Breakfast was good and plentiful.”
“I really enjoyed my stay at the Premier Inn in Minehead. It was an impromptu one as due to unforeseen circumstances I'd needed to extend my holiday. I found all staff very efficient & friendly, but especially the restaurant staff. Restaurant Manager Philip was clearly doing a great job as his entire team, especially Georgina and her colleagues in the breakfast team but as I'd also used the restaurant the previous evening for my 2 course evening meal & drink included in the Meal Deal booking I'd made and found all food was lovely with ample choice and very nicely cooked, hats off too to Jordan, the Kitchen Manager. It had been a very busy Thursday evening and everybody in the attached bar/restaurant seemed to be enjoying their meals and were served by staff genuinely interested in helping to achieve that, so it was definitely a case of service with a smile! There was a lovely atmosphere for all guests and I felt very 'at home' there. Thank you. The room as expected from was generally v clean and tidy and the bed very comfy. I have deducted 1 star however for the room as the next day I had felt it necessary to mention to the cleaning team that although the bathroom and room in general were immaculately clean, it was let down by shower curtain marks and also staining on a couple if ceiling tiles so they may wish to passon my comments to the maintenance team. I cannot recall the room number as unforeseen medical issues following my extended holiday - not in any way connected to my accommodation prevented me leaving my review any sooner. My stay was on 12th September 2024. I only hope that if I opt to stay in another Premier Inn for my holidays this year, which I am contemplating that the staff and the overall service will be as good there as in the Minehead Premier Inn. Other than the issue with the room maintenance, as opposed to the very good overall cleanliness, it was a good experience. Keep up your great work and your outstanding warm welcome. If I were back in the area I'd still consider staying in the Minehead Premier Inn but request a different room unless the maintenance issue had been rectified of course as I think it was a room in the 200? range overlooking the car park and was otherwise a very suitable room. Please don't let a small unsatisfactory and unexpensive maintenance issue ruin the overall lovely standard decor & finish of your rooms. Many thanks for your consideration of this point & once rectified it would have been 5* reviews throughout.”
“I stayed the night in the hotel and it was just OK. I'm glad I took earplugs as my room backed onto the courtyard which was incredibly noisy well into the small hours. The actual bar and restaurant are really good however, and definitely at the higher end of the wetherspoons spectrum. Staff all professional, efficient and friendly.”
“We had the most delightful afternoon tea yesterday for my mums 92nd birthday. It was absolutely excellent in every way. The food was superb and beautifully presented .the service was excellent, friendly and attentive. The setting was superb. Can’t recommend highly enough.”
