Set in the small village of Ash, I have always loved this pub. It's where I first ventured out into the grown-up world of pubs, so I am going to be slightly biased. It has had many landlords over the many years I've been going here, and the current owner and staff are amongst the very best. I can't speak about the food, but the pub has a real, local feel which is becoming quite difficult to find these days. A good selection of well-kept beers helps of course.

Went to Scotland on coach holiday and made friends with a couple from Martock and a couple from Blandford , Dorset . We arranged for all six of us to meet up for a catch up and the lovely couple from Martock recommended the Bell pub in Ash for Sunday roast . Nice warm pub with a nice feel about it and lovely friendly staff including the lovely waitress Casi . Now the food , well i cannot fault it in any way , i had roast beef that was lovely and tender , came with roast potatoes , Yorkshire pudding , stuffing , leeks , cabbage , cauliflower cheese , carrots , broccoli , mashed swede . The plate was pipping hot as of was the food and plenty of gravy which i love . All in all i loved it and will be booking up again soon . K and V from Yeovil .

We were dancing there on Tues 22nd Aug"23, with another team. In case of rain, they kindly would let us use the floor to dance on, but luckily it didn't rain. A good evening all round.

This is a cracking rural pub. Always a warm welcome especially on Dark winter evenings. Gentile pub banter. Dogs and well behaved owners are made very welcome. One thing you can be assured of is the best pint of Guiness available anywhere.
