Myself & two friends attended the steak night - the worst meal we?ve all experienced. The steak was swimming in blood & not cooked as requested, the gammon had a strong gone off taste and smell. The egg was so over cooked it had shrivelled up & the onion rings were soaked in oil. There was 12 people in the restaurant and we had to wait over an hour for our food. Will not be returning.

Only had a drink in the courtyard, didn't stay or eat. But the place is welcoming and the courtyard is a lovely place to relax. It's a little dark inside though.

Went for a carvery as it was my husbands birthday. Looked at the reviews online which were good, but I must say we were disappointed and couldn't wait to get out. Could do with a revamp in the restaurant.

Only went in for a drink but would have liked to check it out more, time being the problem.

This hotel had very friendly staff about all that was good. The breakfast is not free as above £10 per head per day. Not bad however not a good selection of cereal on one of the days. I was in a courtyard room and as a non-smoker had to walk through the smoking area and in the morning had to face an ashtray full of fag ends not pleasant . Room well what can I say as soon as you opened the door the musty smell hit you, bed ok quite comfy although did not dare look at the mattress. The carpets felt damp to walk on so was unsure if they had been cleaned didn't look like they had. The only way I could get fresh air into the room was to open the door and block it from shutting. The TV cabinet top was dusty so not cleaned for a while. Will I recommend or go again. Probably not.

My husband and I stayed here for a couple of nights whilst visiting a friend nearby. The hotel staff were very friendly but the hotel is very much past its best and in need of a complete refurbishment. Shabby rooms and furniture/fittings must make it very difficult to keep clean, but you could see the staff had tried their best. Despite their best efforts, it did not feel clean and we felt quite depressed staying there. It could be a really lovely hotel if given a bit of love and attention. The road is very busy and the windows are not double glazed, so if staying in a front facing room, take earplugs. The walls are also quite thin and we could hear a TV until 3 in the morning and someone walking around well into the small hours, so again bear that in mind. Sorry Langport Arms Hotel, your staff are definitely your best feature.

A great end to a days cycling. Good cycle storage, a comfortable room, a friendly welcome & access to Langport. A top place to stay.

How has this place got 4 stars on TripAdvisor?! Surprised we didn't hear banjos... The hotel was very run down and dingy inside. Aging, chipped or wobbly furniture. Looks like it hadn't been decorated for about 40 years. Beds were lumpy and very uncomfortable. The bathroom had such a loud fan system it woke my son several times in the night. Smelled musty and there was dust everywhere; it made me itchy! The bed linen looked ancient and the towels were tiny and so old, I didn't want to use them. There was a random step in the bathroom which was very easy to trip up, so we had to put the light on (cue the loud extractor fan). There was a big debt in the wall and ominous splatters on the bottom of the valance sheet. Everywhere in the local village was shut on a Monday evening. No breakfast available. Never again! I don't like being mean in reviews, if anything I'm usually very positive but this place just made me shudder as soon as we set foot in it. The room might have been passable in the 70s but it needs a complete overhaul. Please renovate! The staff were friendly enough and the dog in the bar was lovely but that's all I can say on the positive side of things. Very disappointing stay overall.

Good value for money, very helpful sraff and a great breakfast. Altho the hotel is is old with quirky architecture and definitely needs money spent on it, I would recommend as a one-two night stop-over....

I stayed in one of the rooms mentioned in an earlier review and can say it was probably the worst I have ever experienced. 3 single beds (??!) all of which were extremely uncomfortable due to worn out springs, stained furniture and a shower that dribbled water when switched to hot. Gave up waiting after 10 minutes and had a cold shower. Only one bulb working in the 'chandelier'. The rooms haven't been touched for years and the whole place needs a refurbishment. It smells stale and the stained carpets and an industrial style entrance do not add to the ambience. There is no need to have such poor quality bedrooms and the hotel would do much better if it had some tlc. Limited breakfast - cereal and usual cooked offering one day, but for some reason no cereal the following day. Luckily there is a Tesco, bakery and nice cafes within a few minutes walk. Agree with other comments about road noise if staying in a room on the front.

Carvery was cold and the staff looked a mess.
