Brilliant, proper pub: atmosphere, beer, fire - all terrific. Great service from highly skilled, lovely staff. Really, really good pub food at very reasonable prices. Only defecit: they were unable to prevent England from losing the Rubgy in the last minute.

This pub is basically paradise. I met up with old friends for a hiking trip after ten years away. We?d planned a pub stop but hadn?t hoped for much; the complete charms of this place as a pub are not readily apparent online. But it is glorious: roaring fire, friendly locals, snug room, joyous interior, good old fashioned food, fantastic beer. The Exmoor Gold was on top form, and the last few pints of the barrel were singing. Nothing about this place is forced or calculated, it?s built from years of love and use. When it was time to leave and keep hiking we all paused a moment, knowing once we were out that door, something would be gone forever. But the memory remains. What an absolute joy.

Disgraceful behaviour. We exchanged multiple emails and agreed 1:45pm table. We turned up a few minutes late with 3 hungry children and you turned us away. Knowing full well we wouldnt be able to find anywhere else to eat. You appalling establishment. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Never have I seen anything so inhospitable. Genuinely disgusted at your behaviour.Food & drinks: Appalling service.

Been to the Pub numerous times Liveky authentic building - looking v tired but suits the pub okay. Staff were excellent. We were celebrating my brother?s Birthday home from Canada. Unfortunately the white bait was over cooked deep fried- didn?t realise it had awful breadcrumbs on them - not sure if mentioned on Menu - v good portion needed more tartare sauce All meals are if generous portions & good but special board meal was just okay - leg of lamb - would have been far more scrummy if cooked for longer - but ok & big fault food just warm & plates cold. Veg & potatoes could have been cooked more & definitely more veg on plates would give the meal a far more colourful look too Sadly not enough jus on plates - as this was delicious My brother had a good meal & pudding & I didn?t want want to spoil atmosphere of evening - but pointing out the quality of meals as we have just sadly lost our Dad aged 93. Sorry to point out the above - such great staff working hard & lovely atmosphere & we all had a lovely time SpecialMeals on board just need some tcl to sell more I feel Wendy

Nice lunch but spoilt by cold plates. As a slow eater if it arrives cool gets cold too quickly. Good sized pork and tasty sauce guess it was only one potato sliced up which was a bit sparse. Service was good and restaurant well appointed and clean. Just warm the plates please

I just had a drink but liked this pub. The garden is absolutely gorgeous, and even the toilets were pleasantly decorated.Enjoyed a drink after trekking in Quantock Hills.

We were attending a wedding at Crowcombe Court which meant The Carew Arms was the perfect place to stay afterwards. Only a couple of minutes walk from the wedding venue, it was extremely easy. The pub is very old, quirky and charming. The rooms were very comfortable and the staff were great. Had a hot breakfast in the morning which was very tasty and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for somewhere to stay in the area
