We had a Sunday carvery which was booked late. They were very accommodating and the food was lovely. We were told to wait 10 minutes if we wanted fresh beef which we did as this is what my husband wanted. I had Turkey and there was a large choice of vegetables, with mash and roast potatoes. All of it was hot and the meat was very tender. Will definitely return. Thank you.

The pub is only open Fri and Sat, that was fine , the annexe was open but in my room, the TV had no reception, there was no hot water to shower in the morning and there had been an issue with no hot food the night before. Everyone was friendly and it served a purpose.

We visited for a carvery initially on a Groupon deal. We could either dine at 2 or 4.30 which wasn?t specified on Groupon.
Prior to purchasing the Groupon we contacted the crown advising one of the party only eats chicken or turkey and it was confirmed they always have turkey. Therefore we proceeded to book.
We arrived and the carvery counter was very empty. And there was no turkey which meant one of the party had no meat. The guy that was behind the counter needs to work on his people skills. He was very rude and unhelpful. There was no cauliflower cheese, gravy or horse radish. We asked for more gravy/ horseradish and was told there was none? The lady I?m assuming manager table checked and we informed her of what had happened. She appeared with gravy and horseradish. The young lad clearly just couldn?t be bothered to go and get some. She tried to soften the situation but the damage had already been done.
It is also worth noting that the carvery looks nothing like they advertise on their Facebook page. The selection of veg is vast on their Facebook post. However there were carrots, sprouts, beans, cabbage and cauliflower cheese (which we didn?t get)
I fully appreciate this was a Groupon deal so a bargain, if I had paid full price I would?ve definitely been asking for a refund on the meal. It?s a shame as the food actually wasn?t that bad. But I very much doubt we will be returning.
