Stayed over on the weekend, last minute booking for myself, husband and two children. On arrival, we was greeted and given our key to our room. Our room was very clean, cosy with nice decor and furniture. You can control the thermostat for your room which was good for us.A lovely addition was the children's books provided, my girls were impressed.Iron and board provided, although the iron plate could use some attention. The bathroom was very clean, with clean fluffy towels and toiletries provided.Separate bath and shower with good water pressure. All staff were friendly and attentive. We booked a table at the pub/restaurant and the food was spot on. My husband and child had steaks, cooked lovely, I had the fish and chips which I really enjoyed. My youngest child had a meal from the child's menu, macaroni cheese and it was delicious. The pub vibe was nice and friendly locals.Breakfast was good, a large selection of cereals, juices, yoghurts, teas, coffee and also options of cooked breakfasts.I would absolutely come here again if im in the area, thankyou for a lovely stay.

Found this Lovely Traditional Pub and booked for Dinner, amazing choice of Cask Ales. The choice of both main menu and Specials were amazing. We both had fish dishes which I had smoked Haddock and this was one of the best meals I've ever had out.No one checked on us and young waitress finally collected our empty plates and asked if we wanted pudding. We were looking forward to a lovely selection of Puddings but very Dull selection. We both choose one but after 30mins waiting to order we gave in and paid the bill and left.Food was amazing but service let you down. You have amazing Chefs.Just sort out service and wow us with better pudding selection.

We stopped last night on a Britstop and decided to have food (book early as it gets busy). Friendly staff with beautiful home cooked food and the beer was good as well, lots of local ales. This a Camra pub so take your membership card. This was our 2nd stop at this pub and our 1st for food, we would definitely eat here again. If you go for a Britstop book your table earlier in the week as it gets busy and we found that out on our first trip

This is a brilliant pub. The food, beer, rooms, and breakfast is all absolutely brilliant. If you are interested, here is the detail. We've stayed here a few times now and each time booked via the pub's website. The first time we stayed was just for convenience, because it is well located and easy to get to, and we we are so glad we did.The food is lovely, last time we had the beef burgers which were brilliant and previously the faggots in gravy, best I've had for a long time.Oh, very importantly, the beer is really good and well kept (with a small discout for CAMRA members). The pub has a really good selection of about eight or nine Real ales on tap, a selection of ciders, largers, a few wines and nice selection of whiskeys as well. Its a proper pub. Also the rooms are in the same building but next door, so adjoining, this means you are not staying directly above the bar but you can go from your room to the bar without needing to go outside (this makes a big difference, espically if its cold or raining). Oh and there is a separate checkin so you don't need to take your suitcases into the bar area when you get there. The rooms are really nice, with decent comfy beds, decent solid wood furniture and the bathrooms are nice as well.Lastly the breakfast is good and sets you up nicely for the rest of the day.You can tell we like the place, and we just need to find an excuse to pop down to that part of the country again. And thank you to everyone who runs Crossways, its nice to find a decent pub.

Stopped for dinner only. In our group, it was like a lucky dip. Some of the food was good but some of it was not good. Service was the same. Shame, expected more of the place after reading the race reviews. May try it again!
