Walkability: The area is quite hilly

Booked the one bedroom apartment and a single room.
The apartment is outside and down a dingy alleyway that is very poorly lit, with a dodgy step on the approach. It also doesn't have any fire doors. Be careful!
The single room is back in the hotel and up 2 steep flights of stairs. Stayed November 2024 and was very stuffy in the room, even with the radiator off. This made sleeping practically impossible for me, as the window was open the noise from the street and traffic was too much, and I didn't find the bed particularly comfortable. The curtains and bedroom door do nothing to block out any light so I bought a sleep mask and ear plugs and the hotel provided a fan.
The apartment is at street level so there is noise from the bus stop outside and the busy road - some other reviews have said it wasn't a problem for them but we're just not used to it so it was a big problem for us. It would have been unbearable in summer.
Check in was odd but my booking was fairly complicated. Not the warmest of welcomes after a very long drive and my bill was calculated wrong so I had to make 2 payments.
Breakfast and dinner was delicious and cooked to order. Would have liked a coffee and tea top up with breakfast. Maybe I should have just asked!
Overall stay was fine. Great location for Frome shopping, and the Cheese and Grain. Parking, while very narrow and awkward, is available. But I wouldn't book again.

Friendly place and convenient for seeing any events at the nearby cheese and grain.
Pub has pie minister pies which are always a safe bet.
Mind the third step!

Lovely and clean, only issue was shower in room didn't work, we were moved to another room but it was up an extra flight of stairs which was difficult for my husband who has mobility issues, no one offered help and no apology, the member of staff didn't even ask if we were OK, I had to re pack and move missing the breakfast.

We've had a lovely stay at the Corner House.
Great service and food combined with a comfy bed and a place to retreat after a long day on the road. Price/quality wise is very good, so we would come here again. Just be mindfull you might be woken up by a few cars driving fast, but thats hardly an issue as the hotel is alongside the road. Thanks to the staff for the lovely stay.

When I was house hunting in Frome I stayed 6 or 7 times in the Cornerhouse the staff and the atmosphere was always great.
I now live in Frome and enjoy drinking in the bar.

Stayed one night, perfect for short stay. "upgraded" to a double room which was at the top of the building, via a very steep staircase - old pub so not disabled friendly. Rooms adequate but a bit dated - very hot in the summer. Included Breakfast choice was good and friendly service from staff. Car parking behind hotel also.
